Scotty The Hilltown area where some of the programme focused on used to be a community that looked after each other, in the old fashioned can I borrow a cup of sugar sense. Now it is drug ridden. My close friend from Edinburgh naively bought a pub there. It was her biggest mistake. It was robbed every week. Scotty I`ve cut and pasted my post from lil`s thread with additions. That was from my home town, although I live just outside it now. We recognised some of the people. My son and I were in tears. It used to be a vibrant working city but with the descimation of the factories and boatyards and apprenticeships( Thatcherism) its dying in a sense for the working class boy/girl/woman/man. mummymaz We put an ad in Loot - telling people what it was for, this lovely old couple said it reminded them of something they would have done when they were our age so let us have their old banger as they were getting a new one... we got lucky especially with the govmt offering 2k now for any old car!! Oh Blizzie the Italians are happy to take our old bangers and scrap them or do whatever with to be fair they'll be all painted up and looking a bit 'scally' so i dunno if they'd be able to sell them on?! serignhugrf I find anyone who need a tape measure, doesn't know what they are doing. I went to a wee old fashioned shop and she just looked at me, and brought out this hammock type thing and it fitted me perfectly. Ann Summers and M+S have both sold me bras that I never wore again because the size was way wrong. [ more ]

Well-Wisher I usually have nightmares rather than dreams but this is one of the few silly dreams that I remember: Silly Dream part 1: I queued up for ages to get the autograph of David Rappaport (from the film Time Bandits) only to discover, when I finally reached the end of the queue, that it was the queue to see Dudley Moore. Silly Dream part 2: While in a multi-story carpark I was attacked by a gang of skin-heads but was suddenly defended by a gang of kung-fu fighting, grey-haired, american tourists. [ more ]
*yogi Bear* my ex used to be a nightmare when he was stressed. He would dream that there was a bomb or spider in the bed and actually jump out while still asleep and run to the corner of the room yelling at me to get out of bed, he wouldn't get back in until i did actually get out of bed and he had checked uner the duvet, and HE was asleep the entire time. Former Member I have a love hate relationship with my moby phone - I prefer texting to talking but I get really arsey if someone texts/calls during my favourite programmes my key with the (def) keeps sticking so most of my texts don't make sense these days as for my land line - I joined the Telephone preference service which has stopped cold calls from the UK but it can't do anything about the ones that are being made from overseas i.e. Asian call centres and I've had a lot of them lately which really... Yellow Rose I've got the hang of this particular series now. The first half hour they show us all the rubbish acts, with short clips of the ones that actually got through but we don't see their whole act, how disappointed must they be not to see themselves properly on the programme. Second half, more rubbish acts but we get two that have potential so go through, the last act always being the best till last. Maybe from now on I'll just watch the second half [ more ]
