American Idol
Mercedes78 I was shocked Kris won, i wanted Adam to win, but he'll be a super star anyway i think, he's just the best singer i've seen in a long time. I loved Danny Goky his voice was amazing too, i was hoping for a Adam V Danny final that would have been good, the final was amazing then Kris won and ruined it. Oh well you can't have it all [ more ]

What should i do? 'Parental' advice welcome!!
Cariad OK...I stopped reading after the first page but here's my contribution as a single parent of 7 years standing and friend/relative to more than one step parent... It's important he sees that you are an item - assuming you're serious about that. He must see you as a couple. However, it's also important he has time with his father, either now or when any other children come along. My two are now 13 and 14. Their half siblings are 2 and 4. Whilst they love their little siblings dearly they feel... [ more ]
Mollie He is completely manipulating you and trying to control things... yikes! so easy to see it when it's someone elses relationship... he does sound very controlling though.. again sorry about neg but had to say something [ more ]
Mollie He seems to have very high expectations of you, which then will become a pressure situation if you don't meet his expectations.... unless you are 1000000% sure you want to grow old with this man I would have to say think very carefully about what it is you want from a relationship... Don't mean to sound negative, sorry... [ more ]

Stewie Griffin is featuring in Bones tonight!.....
Dirtyprettygirlthing I told him not wind the dog up when he was eating... *sigh* we've had to train hubby how to treat the dog as well as vice versa! Bones was ok... could have been done better. The brain tumour storyline is very similar to a current storyline in Greys Anatomy... only not as sad! [ more ]
captain marbles You just threw that in like it was an everyday occurance. Couldn't he just have had a piece of toast if he was that hungry? I watched Stewie bit from Bones btw. Funny, a little weird, but funny. [ more ]
Dirtyprettygirlthing He had one two years ago (when he managed to stick his head between the dog and his dinner... and the dog 'accidently' nipped him on the nose') But he may need antibiotics or sommat... I will coerce him to the quacks tomorrow. [ more ]

Shizzlex she did more than push for the rocking horses i think she's full of hot air too busy thinking 3 steps ahead to who she can shift the blame on in the boardroom [ more ]
Cariad But by the same token she failed to discuss discount options with him beforehand to give her any leeway. She was the one who pushed for the rocking horses. [ more ]

My poor dog...or poor hubby, haven't decided which yet...
Dirtyprettygirlthing Asda's own brand low adherant dressing! We have quite a well stocked first aid box... the steristrips usually get used on me (veg chopping accidents!) [ more ]
HyacinthB They're so bloomin' stubborn aren't they ditty? My hubby wouldn't go to the doctor after the bee sting became infected - not until I lost my temper and insisted he at least go to the pharmacy. At least you've steri-stripped it which is holding it together. What dressings are you using? Do you have Mepore? [ more ]
Dirtyprettygirlthing Aw Laydees I have tried... I think I've pushed it as much as I can (he's on the verge of getting snotty with me). The holes have been flushed out, antiseptic'd and one of them has a steristrip on it, prior to dressing. And if I had my way he'd go down there tonight... but he won't go.. not tonight! I am kicking myself a bit, I should have got him down there earlier when he was still in a bit of shock. [ more ]

Someone tell me a joke
Demantoid John Wayne rides in into town, dismounts his horse, walk behind it, lifts its tail and gives it a big smacking kiss on the pucker, before heading on into the saloon. "Why'd you do that?" says a bloke who was watching. "Kez I got chapped lips," says the Duke. "Dez that cure 'em?" asks the bloke. "Nope," says JW. "But it sure stops me lickin' 'em." [ more ]

Who are the best and the worst apprentice candidates?
***Mrs BBV*** What complete balderdash, what an inverted pyramid of piffle. That is all completely untrue and ludicrous conjecture. I am amazed you of all people can write such drivel. [ more ]
Flossie Nope. Debra was just making a firm case for herself. I think you regard Nick as semi-divine, he isn't and like any human being will always be worthy of some sort of criticism. Mona demonstrated a brief skill at cajoling a retailer who seemed to be revelling in the media exposure and would probably have bought a kitchen sink had it been a means to get on the telly. Mona had repeatedly demonstrated what a talentless non-entity she was and while that isn't offensive, her character is. We are... [ more ]
Flossie Yeah well she was twice as stupid as the other contestants. She was spiteful and unprincipled in her desperate and clumsy verbal attacks on others and I think this was to disguise her awful lack of ability. She had clearly decided attack was the best means of defence, but she isn't equipped with the verbal skills to do anything but blunder about as she lashed to and fro. [ more ]

serignhugrf It's a Cadbury product and you can only phone or write. Since I am currently trying to make a curry, feed an 18 month old and trying to ensure dog or 6 year old doesn't go under the blades of the lawn mower while OH cuts grass (he's a bit blinkered) I should probably not get anymore envolved Maybe tomorrow I shall write and happen to mention that fruit and nut is my fav choc [ more ]

Can anyone offer me a wee bit of advice? About my friend...
Towno :) Ah Pixie, thinking over your problem you really only have one solution: "Hi Jane , is everything okay? Thought you were going to text me with a time to meet up? I'm short on credit so let me know when you want to pop over/meet for coffee. Look forward to seeing you, Pixie x" That way at least the ball is in her court, you don't need to cchase her anymore for a meeting and really, she is kinda taking the mick. I am particularly lousy when it comes to meeting up with folk and replying to... [ more ]
Raggy♥Doll I admit to being a bit crap meself, I don't *do* phone calls, am a bit reclusive but people don't realise as I can be quite outgoing amongst friends. Lots of women especially have tried with me but I just lack confidence when I don't see alot of them. I do do answering emails and texts though, and occasionally do the first contact...God I'm crap innit [ more ]
jonono I've got the same rubbish with a family member who I am expected to practically mother even though she is in her 30's with 3 kids and married. We had a bust up a while back and this came up and she says she never calls me as I am selfish and never know what to say to her problems, fact is I prefer not to have negative conversations. Anyway I have called her every time for the last few years and even though it's family I am giving up. Life's too short to be pandering to folk. [ more ]

Queen of the High Teas I remember being a bit upset when it happened. Such a waste. But you're right, at least he managed to keep a little dignity in death. [ more ]
Well-Wisher Sad what happened to him: "On 16 December 2001 he was found dead, by self-strangulation, in a room at the Best Western Plaza Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. At the time of death he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.279%" but I suppose it was a rock 'n' roll way to die and atleast he didn't die on the loo like Elvis or die of something embarassing like Michael Hutchence. squiggle Gordon Brown would do ANYTHING at the moment that he thought would raise his popular appeal. Its nothing to do with the Gurkhas its El Gordo trying to raise his popularity. [ more ]
~Orchid~ At the risk of standing up for Gordon Brown. I think he did well on this. All sucessive governments have ignored the plight of the Gurkhas including Thatcher and Blair. Yes GB was not interested at first but he was following in the footsteps of all the previous governments. How is it that he creates a backlash of disgust over the Gurkhas when previous governments had ignored them and the public were quite silent? Gordon Brown changed his mind and did the right thing in the end.The Gurkhas... [ more ]
