Cinds TBH last tour Hampden Park was much more civilised on the pitch. Wembley I honestly could hardly walk when they pulled me out, they gave me a glass of water and I was shaking so much I wore more of it than I drank. But hey, I really do think this will be their last, so I'm in. [ more ]

Joe, Cinds... and any other R2 listeners....
Garage Joe "Ear shattering carnage!" See!? This has been another example of what we used to call, "New Headmaster syndrome!" Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, along comes a new level of badness. That was awful, particularly the last half hour. The Smith gadjie was too piercing, man. We could have done without the soporific Chet song, the guests were not of any interest, and the thought for the day was a thinly disguised advert for that Miranda one. [ more ]

christmas present ideas...
Ells There are some lovely home made crafts pages on facebook selling all sorts of wee personalised trinkets which I think make lovely gifts. I've bought for my sister, niece, Mum and MIL in the past and they all loved them and still have them on display. I always struggle with my sister as she's a little more picky than most people I know but I got a great bargain on the John Lewis site....50ml Boss Orange EDP for £25 (I think). The smaller bottle was dearer so it was a good find. [ more ]

SCD: Saturday's dances. What do you think?
MrsH This week Caroline Flack , Frankie Bridge , Mark Wright , Jake Wood and Simon Webbe are through to the semis, and they’re doing two dances each. Here’s everything that you need to know about their dances and songs. Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev will dance the Salsa to Ricky Martin’s Maria, before dancing the Foxtrot to Diamonds by Josef Salvat. Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton will do the Argentine Tango to The 5th by David Garrett, followed by the Rumba to Somewhere Only We Know by Lily... [ more ]

jacksonb I love Paloma too, but I have to say her latest single is a bit squawky and more than nods to Americanisation of the music video genre. Which needless to say, I don't like, because I think she is better than that. [ more ]

BBC3 proposals announced
Garage Joe There was a superb article in t'Grauniad recently in which they refuted Murdoch's financial accusations. Alas! It's downstairs pinned to my notice board and not available at the moment. The bottom line is that at less than three quid a week, or less than a pint of Old Speckled Hen, they provide all those advert free radio channels, and a stack of TV. Murdoch couldn't do it for that price. [ more ]
Carnelian Hopefully this lot of BBC hating, Murdoch loving zealots will be out by then and BBC3 will be saved. BBC3 might not be that great, but I find myself watching it quite often and there are lots of original shows. They're very strong in comedy. [ more ]

Eugene's Lair Well; I'd been wondering why exactly the story was set in Scarbrough (other than just as an excuse to use the song), and I must admit I didn't see that particular revelation coming. Carnelian Don't like it but I really don't feel clean while I have stubble. I feel greasy and unwashed - I also feel not shaving allows grease to congeal and promotes spots, which I am prone to. Although I typically will postpone a shave because it's a chore, I always feel better after one. Wet shave that is. Haven't used an electric one since I was a teenager. [ more ]
