Multi vitamins
Marguerita I dont believe in multi vitamins to replace what you need I honestly dont believe most of them work, and also think they can also be harmful if taken in shed loads... [ more ]
SazBomb I got the boots ones this morning... just the standard multivitamin, they had 14mg of Iron in, which seemed to be standard across all the multivitamins people recommended. Plus they were cheap and cheerful, and I have them now, no waiting for deliveries Thanks for the help peeps [ more ]
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing I use Boots own multivits. with iron. They do a '3 for 2' on their vitamins. £8.65 for 180 tablets. [ more ]

I am annoyed!
Sexy_Kelly Cant you tell? lol Seriously i may give it a bad impression but thats probably down to being a barmaid for far too long. You get to see people at there best but you also see people at there worst. When something kicks off ill either be there watching or ill hear about it. Suppose it doesn't help living round the corner from town centre. When the drunks are heading home they pass by mine so theres always something going on outside from people peeing in my doorway (and the person who decided... [ more ]
Crunchy Nuts What's it like living in Selby? [ more ]
Sexy_Kelly Before you panic about my safety renton i live 2 mins from the town centre and i used to walk myself home at the end of a shift at the pub usually between 4am and 4:30am all the drunken idiots have usually already made there way home by then so i doubt i was ever in much danger with the exception of when some guy follwed me home shouting at the birds along the way (scary stuff) and the night the girl was attacked with a baseball bat outside my flat but i was already in by that time. Saint LOL we HAVE one of those phones - its an ivory colour and still has the paper FOUR digit number used in 1970 in the dial This is identical to the one given to me by my brother - i loved it !!! [ more ]
Ducky I love those phones too Tina! I was telling my son about them a couple of weeks ago and we had a long discussion about how stupid it was to make the emergency number 999 because it would take you so long to call it. A few hours later we watched Eddie Izzard's new DVD for the first time and he said the exact same thing. My son looked across in amazement at me as if I was Mystic Meg or summat. [ more ]

Movie/TV Mistakes?
Bolton Fan Tonight in Casualty when two junior doctors were in a car following another doctor on a motorbike, the road had lines in the middle in some shots and no lines in others and it kept alternating between the two. Also a couple of years ago in Casualty there was a drug addict apparently dead on the toilet but I'd recorded it and kept rewinding it to see her open her eyes - the first time of watching it I thought she was actually supposed to be alive in the storyline and couldn't quite believe it... El Loro The very first howler I can remember seeing was many years ago when the BBC showed Clive of India (made in 1935 starring Ronald Colman). I was only a youngster at the time but I remember a battle scene involving elephants being ridden by the soldiers. Within moments there was a clip in the scene which was an exact repeat of an earlier scene. I have never attempted to re-see this film because it was dreadful. [ more ]

Soozy Woo When my sister in law got married a few years ago her chief bridesmaid was exceptional with all the prep. She hired a fabulous house with swimming pool for the night. Is this the missing link?
El Loro Reference:Tattoo What came first, the turtle or the egg? That's an old one! The answer is the egg bcause the very first creature to be classified as a turtle would have had to have been born from an egg, but its mother laying the egg would have been at the transition stage from whatever turtles are descended from, and tis predecessors would also have been laying eggs. Saint No travelling Diary Room Chair No Diary Room Uncut No meeting their parents as they leave the house Our only hope is that a new broadcaster wil pick it up and carry it forward with a new format - just like in the USA - their BB is totally diffferent - so it CAN be made to work, sigh [ more ]

ARGGGGG!!! FOOTBALL!!!
Demantoid I love footie. I can't stand - and refuse to watch - all these so-called 'talent' shows the telly is clogged up with, though millions seem to like them. If the X-Factor, BGT, I'm a Celeb, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing On Ice, Over the Rainbow, Song for Eurovision, etc, were all put into a giant mincer, I wouldn't complain. [ more ]

Yellow Rose Hubby loves football, I find it incredibly boring and it's on for sooooo long with all chat before the match and endless chat afterwards I'm sure it used to only be shown at the weekends and that was far too much but now it seems to be on every night on some channel or another. Hubby's watching yet another match tonight, football has monopolised the tv, scheduled programmes get thrown off because of it, it's all toooo much too often [ more ]

Crucifix nurse loses appeal.
Former Member It's pretty standard in most hospitals now i reckon that only a wedding band or bangle, and small stud earrings are permitted on the wards.. some dress codes even state that fob watches if worn must be inside a pocket. Makes perfect sense that she shouldn't be allowed a necklace, be it a religious symbol or not. [ more ]
~Lee~ There are hospitals here where some of the staff are nuns and wear a crucifix....To the best of my knowledge there's not been any incidents where either staff or patients were hurt. [ more ]
SazBomb Reference: I am sure that in this sort of case where the risk seems to be assessed as being a health hazard for the nurse in question, ie a patient could grab it and strangle her, this seems to be an over-protective attitude. She is a grown woman, she can assess the risk for herself. It's probably to stop them being sued as much as anything else... and as Growly said earlier, as a patient, I wouldn't appreciate having a nurse's necklace in my face/getting in the way when they were trying to... Yogi19 Reference: I'm flipping hilarious. [ more ]
Demantoid I fully endorse Dawn French's right to be as fat as she likes. But (even though I'm no Kate Moss) I've always disliked the way she puts down thin women, and constantly bangs on about how fat women are sexier. How would she like it if skinny women were as disparaging of her? [ more ]

Garage Joe Reference: comparing a zoo to a concentration camp and a castle of historic value as a building used to oppress the masses (Didn't notice this, I've been in and out while doing the house from top to bottom) Indeed! Secret tape reveals Tory backing for ban on gays
Demantoid Reference: Or gay bars, why call them gay bars, is that not discriminatory? No, because they don't stop straight people drinking in them. They identify themselves as gay bars because that way gay people know they won't get any hassle in them. But straights are generally welcome too. [ more ]
Tattoo Reference: I dont want black people in my house? Why does it only have to apply to race or colour or whatever the correct word is these days. What about pubs not allowing football colours? Or gay bars, why call them gay bars, is that not discriminatory? [ more ]
