Wagnergate!! listen to the tape.
Former Member X Factor contestant Wagner has been caught on film smoking cannabis at work earlier this year. The Sun has posted the video, which shows the Brazilian wearing a hi-visibility jacket and passing the joint to a co-worker. Wagner has reportedly said: "A lot of musical geniuses like Bob Marley and Paul McCartney smoked cannabis." A source added: "Simon would hit the roof if anyone smoked drugs in the X Factor house." How will the Con-Dems cuts affect you?
Garage Joe Reference: Cheer up people. You brought all this on yourselves by your profligate lifestyles and addiction to high risk investments. I suspect that people brought it upon themselves by shoring up a succession of baffled administrations who never restored industry and had the abstract view that somehow as a sevice/finance centre we might prosper. Alas! The people in charge of finance knew nothing. I dedicate my life to finding the FM who lectured me about how only backward countries made... [ more ]
Quimper The problem with UK plc is that it lives beyond its means. We have lost out real industry because we have been out-competed and out-manoeuvred. When it came to paying a subsidy to keep our industries afloat, we bowed the knee to Brussels and allowed them to go under. What don't we do? Cars (of our own but we do provide market access and cheap labour to Honda), steel, ships, coal, planes (nearly). What do we do? Tourism and financial (and other) services and bureaucracy. We have a few people... [ more ]

Louis says Cowell is not gay.
Marguerita I think he is gay he can be ruthless when it is other peoples lives he is dealing with but likes to keep his own life private, I dont believe he would say he is gay until he is ready ..if ever, thats just my opinion. [ more ]
Karma_ I'm still flummoxed as to how Cowell, of all people, can be described as a fence sitter. He's one of the most ruthless people in the business, let alone his opinions on his shows. I also personally think if he was gay he'd just say it, I really don't think he'd give a shit. As for the news of Ms Fiancee potentially sodding off home...woohoooo! [ more ]

Marguerita I would hate to win that amount of money I really would I dont do the euro lottery so it wont happen,I do the ordinary lottery if I won I would make sure my family were secure and would give to some of my favourite charities, I dont want to be a millionaire perhaps if I was young I would feel differently, I would not go public as by doing that you put yourself up for many bad things that could happen to yourself and family. if I was going to have a big win I have always said to my family I... Time to change
PeterCat Reference: I had a lot of hope with Labour and it didn't arrive To be honest, cologne, Labour's plans for psychological therapies were going to make things worse, not better. How long do you take to get to sleep?
Crunchy Nuts Purely depends on what i've done during the day. If I've played football, been to the gym etc I can sleep well at night, if I've been out on the piss I can sleep well, however if I've just sat behind a desk all day and done fuck all at night to go with it then I seriously struggle to sleep at night, quite often I can go to bed at say 1am and still be lying there wide awake at say 5 or 6am - i have nytol but it doesn't work. Pain in the arse when I';ve got work the next day. [ more ]
Rexi Reference: Pamula I have very little sleep on Sunday nights though. I'm all over the bed for ages trying to get comfy and fall asleep *am intrigued to know what makes Sundays different from the rest of the week* Just lately I am asleep within 5 mins of going to bed. I fear for what Cameron will do to the people of this country

What do you think of this?
MMD Reference: I know Thatcher isn't on their level of evilness and she's just a frail old woman now slowly losing her mind so deserves some compassion, but I do think the country would have been a far better place if she'd never have been born. Xactly-- she destroyed everything labour had fought so hard for after the 2nd World War in an instant. and Cameron is doing the same again--- Fuck the lower clasees and sick and disabled=== we need to get back the billions we are wasting on the wars... [ more ]

Reality TV: behind the scenes. A moral dilemma.
Karma_ Reference: Carnelian Sorry MMD, can't agree there at all. Facebook didn't really fix the outcome of last year's Xmas no.1. After all, Facebook is just a social network site. People on Facebook used it as a medium to promote a product - just like Simon Cowell does with his ITV show and tabloid press stories. Facebook in its own right has no influence over record sales and compiling record sales charts. Reference: Croc It was promoted on FB just as the X Factor winners song was all over the TV... [ more ]
Karma_ Reference: and look how FB fixed the outcome of last years Xmas No 1.. Facebook as a company didn't 'fix' anything It was used as a promotional platform in the same way as TV, radio and newspapers are, and it was the consumer who didn't want another guaranteed X factor Christmas number 1. I wouldn't have thought billionaire Facebook owner, Mark Zuckerberg could give 2 shites who was number 1 in the UK or the hype surrounding the million or so people who pushed the campaign considering his... History may be made in tennis with the Japan Open final
El Loro But it was not to be. There was no mention on the BBC site, but I tracked this down from The Times of India website: OSAKA (Japan): Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn won the the singles crown at the Japan Women's Open tennis tournament Sunday, dashing Kimiko Date Krumm's bid to become the oldest player to win a tour title. The 33-year-old Thai ace, the runner-up here in 2001 and the doubles champion with Maria Sharapova in 2003, took the match with a 7-5, 6-7 (4/7), 6-1 victory over the... [ more ]

Details of the Government Cuts following their Spending Review
El Loro My opening post has now been amended to include links to the official press releases, the press releases for each region and the announcement for compensation to the Equitable Life policyholders. [ more ]
El Loro The main surprise in today's announcement was this: From the BBC: The state pension age will now rise to 66 by 2020 for both men and women, the Chancellor, George Osborne, has said. The plan brings forward by six years the plan that the previous Labour government had put in place. Mr Osborne told MPs that the increase from 65 to 66 would be phased in from 2018. This will also accelerate the existing plan under which women's pension age would have been equalised with men at age 65, by 2020. [ more ]
El Loro In the Government spending review paper (link at the top), details is given on the effect for each department. For those who have a particular interest in a specific department, this is a list of the page numbers in the report where you can find the detail.
