Im sorry, but im still in shock at Cheryl Cole.
SazBomb ah the pic is of Anne Hathaway - a couple of people said I look like her (pfft, I wish! ) so I put her pic on here when we first moved over... I had one of me on recently, I may change it back to me if I'm feeling brave later [ more ]
cologne 1 Reference: It does Cologne Joe was calling me a Southerner cos I live 'south of Thirsk' now, but I'm an escaped top-righter myself Well, I'm all over the place being German, Living in Scotland and then down the South West. BTW, I keep meaning to ask, has anybody ever told you you look like Julia Roberts? If not, they should have. [ more ]

I'm a little bit excited!
Soozy Woo Reference: What are wallies? Big gherkins ................that's what we called them in Croydon ......................same too when I moved to Harrow. They've never heard of the ooooop North though where I am now! [ more ]
Karma_ What are wallies? I'm thinking silly people but you can't keep people under your counter so it must be summat else Maybe it's a regional thing, but the price of cod has gone through the roof here. Saying that though, I have just recalculated and you could squeeze a sausage in batter into that tenner with the cod and chips and picked onion. [ more ]
Soozy Woo Reference: Hey don't knock a tenner! It'd still buy you a cod and chips and a small pickled onion, We never pay for our fish and chips - it's the family business - and in our shop you could get large haddock and chips twice for 8.20 mushy peas included. Pickled onions and wallies are kept under the counter for the more discerning customer [ more ]

Jenny Thanks for that G & P. It's quite scary. Hope I don't get caught out. [ more ]
Dirtyprettygirlthing Reference: what's dodgy these days. this is the problem Sooz... once upon a time if you had antivirus software running & didn't click on pop ups, download dodgy software or open suspiscious email attachments you were ok.... not that simple anymore! Reference: Why do people put these viruses out in the first place? this seems to be changing too.... once upon a time it was the "kudos" of having something you wrote spreading all over the place ... but its all about scamming cash out of you... [ more ]
Soozy Woo I bow down in admiration ............all of that went right over my head. I honestly and truly wouldn't have the first inkling where to begin. I turn on and hope for the best ...............I try hard not to click on anything dodgy but .................what's dodgy these days. Why do people put these viruses out in the first place? I really don't get it TBH. [ more ]

Installing Husband 1.0
~Sparkling Summer~ Well, that makes me feel better, at least it's not just me! [ more ]
El Loro Uninstalling Husband 1.0 can be very difficult and time consuming, particularly when trying to upgrade or change to a different package. Expert help may be required. For security reasons, people have been known to destroy the inner drive of Husband 1.0 with a sledgehammer. However this is regarded by PCs as illegal and therefore cannot be recommended. [ more ]

Warning over anti-virus cold calls to UK internet users
El Loro Reference: Dame_Iva_Cracker She's tried blocking their number but for some reason she's had difficulty with her phone supplier to do this. The number they generally use is either witheld, out of area, international, or an impossible number like 0000000000. [ more ]
El Loro I was visiting one of my clients when they had the hoax phone call saying they had found a virus on their computer. He then had great pleasure in telling them that as they didn't have internet access that the caller was trying to con him and rang off. There is no way in which Microsoft are going to ring people telling them that they have found a virus on their computer for the simple reason that Microsoft are in the business of making money - why would they spend money on setting up an... Dame_Ann_Average My mate is being plagued by phone calls from these people. To Make You Feel My Love. Best version competition.
Croctacus I cured noisy neighbours years ago by putting Laughing Len on a loop, full volume, speakers against the wall and going out. That stopped them playing Janet Jackson's What Have You Done For Me Lately? over and over again. [ more ]
Soozy Woo Reference: Laughing Len, - I don't go that far but every so often my husband enjoys a depressing half hour or so listening to him! [ more ]
Garage Joe Reference: I have hated the song with a passion since Mrs Joe first noticed and remarked after hearing the dirge like crap on Waterloo road. She insists on turning the electric wireless volume up every time it is featured. That was a big help. Ta My point being that's Mrs joe's fave version. She really is into appalling yet bland shieght like Dylan, Laughing Len, Neil Diamond et al. [ more ]

Just seen Prince William on the news
cologne 1 James Hewitt. Godawful person. [ more ]
Prometheus Prince William. Leader of Men. No not really. If he wants to lead this country give him a gun and put him out in the thick of the action and fighting for glory. Big noses fail increasingly to impress me in any military situation particularly when sported by war-dodging nonces like our future king. [ more ]
Karma_ Is William the ginger one? I always get confused. The older one with the teeth like a horse looks like a horse and the ginger one used to look like that ginger fella Diana had a leg over with (can't remember his name). Although the ginger one looks more like a Windsor now he's got older. [ more ]

Help Needed With Computer Virus ....
Soozy Woo Whenever anything like that has happened to me in the past I always turn off in the hope that things will be 'all better' when I turn on again. I'm not very techie minded at all ...............unfortunately a little rest never cured the problem. These viruses are nasty little feckers. Think I'd bite the bullet and get someone in - it may be cheaper in the long term! [ more ]
Green&Pink Blizzie thank you for posting pasting that. Thanks El Loro and Ella I had to switch the computer off for a while cos it was driving me nuts. I have been pitting my none to great computing wits against it all day. El loro, thanks for the reassurance about card details. I will cease shopping from here. Holidays dashed?
Hobbes The best thing about camping holidays was NOT listening to Mum and Dad through canvas walls. ***sniggers*** . Butlins and Pontins were for posh gits! [ more ]
Demantoid Reference: I've never seen the appeal of holiday camps - to me they are too much like organised, enforced fun Exactly Our two weeks every summer in Cornwall were probably cheaper than a week in a holiday camp - our tent was a big dirty white canvas beer tent with wooden tentpegs and blankets for dividing the "rooms". We spent hardly any money while we were there, cooked our own grub on a Gaz stove and took our own orange squash and sarnies to the beach. But I always had the time of my life... [ more ]
Former Member I've never been to any of these places but as has been said, times have changed. Decades ago these places were full to the brim as families could not afford to travel abroad. I've never seen the appeal of holiday camps - to me they are too much like organised, enforced fun . It's the demise of the seaside holiday resorts that sadden me. As a child we would always travel to Blackpool, Scarborough, Eastbourne and such like [ more ]

Eugene's Lair Reference Rawky-Roo Yesterday at 20:29: Dear Lord Eugene!! I could only listen to about 10 seconds of that......sorry Do you mean the "Blue Danube" intro, or the "In the hall of the mountain king" background music? I'd definitely agree that the intro is painful to listen to - it rather encouraged you to get quickly into the game! I never had any problems with the background music though, but you've got to remember that, as I said earlier, it was a novelty at the time. Allowing for the almost... [ more ]
