Former Member Hi Comrade. Christmas can be the best time in the world but you are right, it can be the loneliest as well.What to do? There is no quick and easy answer. I think the run up is probably worse than the actual day - the TV and shops are full of the "ideal" happy family and friends stuff. Former Member I'm not a TV lover Sprout. Weird I know as I chat on what was a TV forum. I watch more now as I'm stuck in most of the time and I like to watch something when I'm knitting! Which I've been doing quite a bit of lately hence the TV watching. I do like Pointless followed by The Weakest Link in the afternoon though. I don't usually bother to watch it on catch up if I miss it but I wanted to see the Sleb version today. [ more ]

Anyway i stand corrected, he made jokes of a Downs child, but apparently he apologised , and at another venue he took a Down,s man on stage to say sorry, which was just as patronising IMO . Carnelian Totally agree Demantoid, I've noticed the way Cameron is flanked by Lib Dem MPs often, and it's strategic in that they'll move around depending on what's being announced. I agree, Cable will be kept on as a political eunuch and lightning rod for unpopular Osborne decisions. At first I was angry with the Lib Dems for their betrayal but now I almost pity them. Cameron's job seems to be to take the plaudits when things go right and disappear or hand over to the Lib Dems when things go wrong. [ more ]
