kattymieoww I don't know if you are aware of the sectarian issues we have up here in the west of Scotland.Celtic/rangers rubbish.Neil Lennon the manager of Celtic was getting threats to his life and his famlies posted on the net,via blogs and facebook etc. He actually was sent bullets and a nail bomb. The culprits for that have been arrested. The Scottish government are bringing in new laws to prosecute anyone posting such threats to people regarding their religion ect, on the net as a "Hate crime". Ducky We had a similar thing happen here...... but with a restaurant. A local butcher put his dead pet dog in the freezer and was of course reported to Environmental Health. The "story" got out but not the facts......and rumours were spread on FB etc that it was actually found at chinese restaurant.....and the poor owner was subjected to all sorts of vandalism and abuse. The internet depresses me at times. Or maybe that's kinda like a workmen blaming his tools......people depress me at times. [ more ]

The Fountain
El Loro At long last I have realised why this film could not be called The Tree of Life. Terence Malick has been working on a film called The Tree of Life for the past few years, and because of his revered reputation, no other director would dare make a film with the same name. Malick's film opens in the UK on 8 July. [ more ]
El Loro When you have seen the film you may realise why I think the film should be called The Tree of Life rather than The Fountain. If you read the story of the garden of Eden in Genesis, you would see that besides the tree of knowledge (which is the one with the apple that Eve picked), there was also the tree of life. The punishment for Adam and Eve for having eaten the apple of knowledge was to be driven out of the garden. The entrance to the garden was then barred so that they could no longer... [ more ]

Marguerita That was heartbreaking to watch I agree with Blizzie's post above ^^ financially with everything going up and all these cuts not enough jobs/houses etc unfortunately it is going to get worse for the most vulnerable this video has been an eye opener, all of the children were lovely and did not expect or want much from life only a decent home/clothes to keep them warm and enough food to eat I did not know wether to smile or cry when the boy at the end said he would be getting free school... [ more ]
~Lee~ My post wasn't aimed at anyone in this thread, sorry if it came across that way....Blizz agree with your post ,sums it all up well for me tbh, those kids were absolute little darlings I find it extremely sad that with so many things stacked against them they may not be in a position to achieve what they possibly could in different circumstances.Hearing one little girl say she'd always be poor made me think at such a young age she's accepted her destiny in life,It shouldn't have to be that way... These families are being let down they are not being told what they are entitled to and they are not being taught how to use what they have to help themselves.
