Kaffs virgin trains have smoke detectors, stain - I expect they all do [ more ]
stain Quick question. East coast rail! Do they have smoke detectors or cameras in their toilets. I'm asking because I recently travelled from edinburgh to london and had just lit a sneaky ciggie in the toilets when an announcement came over the tannoy. It went like this. "All east coast rail trains are non smoking. It is a criminal offence to smoke in gangways and toilets, if you are caught smoking in these areas british transport police can be called and you can be ejected at the next station or... [ more ]
Kaffs Watched the video now... Many's a time I'd have been been grateful if that guy had been on my train. The fare dodger obviously isn't a professional though... they all know you have to go to the toilet when the conductor's in the next carriage and wait there till he's passed through. [ more ]

Private landlord help needed.
stain Thank you everyone this has helped a lot. [ more ]
Former Member Hi Stain I would say that as the property is his, it is his responsiblity to make sure that everything works properly. Has the property got a gas safety certificate? If it hasn't then he is breaking the law big time. I would start by asking to see that first. As Jackson says if you rented the property as being fully centrally heated then that is what you should have and if it is not then it is up to the landlord to put it right. http://england.shelter.org.uk/...rds_responsibilities Good luck [ more ]
jacksonb the other thing to consider is that if you fail to report any fittings/fixtures that are broken or not working, when you move out he could charge you for repairing them, because you have no proof that they weren't working prior to you moving out. [ more ]

El Loro I have discovered a fix to the problem. Delete your cookies and then the clips come back as they used to. I found this tip on the Youtube help forum. It seems to be something to do with HTML5, and this is a fix whilst Youtube try to work out the problem. The posting did say that the fix won't permanently solve the problem which will probably come back, but when it does I'll at least know to try deleting my cookies. [ more ]
