Moonbeams i asked my mate the very same question on sat night. he had it done 10 years ago and said it was the best thing he ever had done. His brother had it done 2 years after him and also had no problems and would (if he had too) do it again in a heartbeat. my mate was telling me that an other of our friends had it done but he only had one year out of it before he needed glasses again. Garage Joe As far as animals go I only eat lean meat. I can see the argument that if you are going to kill a living thing that you shouldn't further insult it by throwing the rest away, however I can't face offal. Never had any issues with black pudding though. [ more ]

pgtips 17th birthday, driving lesson on my birthday in November, passed 1st time in the February... my daughter is on her 4th test.. failing on the 'maneuver'(reverse parking) why can't they just give her the 'emergency stop' ! [ more ]
Former Member Oooooh a LOT of people passing the first time. I think the younger someone is; the more likelihood that they will pass quickly, as I think you're more confident and less afraid. My auntie took NINE tests to pass and Lord knows how many lessons.. Well over 200 I think. She started learning at around 30 (back in the 70s,) and took about 8 tests over 3 or 4 years and failed every one. THEN she took it up AGAIN about 15 years later in the late 1980s (in her late 40s) and took about 20 lessons;... [ more ]
suzybean I was 18 and passed the first time in my instructor's Micra. My younger brother passed on his 17th birthday just having a couple of lessons from my dad and older brothers in car parks and maneuvers on our driveway. My first car was an Astra that I drove to the ground. [ more ]

Cosmopolitan Ells, really sorry to hear about this situation and I don't want to put a downer on your anticipated holiday but..... the travel agents AND often the hotel concerned usually understate just how disruptive these situations can be. His condition is not compatible with life so maybe it would have been kinder to leave to slip away in his sleep.
