I don't really understand why we ever signed this extradition treaty as it is in this form, probably some mumbo jumbo about the war on terror, which ends up handing the American courts quarte blanche to do what they like to anyone found to be upsetting an American citizen. I grew up with dogs as pets and so did my sons. If you are going to mix children with dogs, then choosing a breed that is good with children and giving proper training is imperative. It is much easier to introduce a puppy into a family of children, than it is to introduce a baby to a dog that is already established in a household. (Imo). We got our first golden retriever as an eight week old puppy, when my youngest son was 14 months old. They grew up together and their bond was unbreakable. [ more ]

For me eastenders is the best of the soaps at this moment. I only watch that and hollyoaks but even hollyoaks is shite nowadays - it's just kind of habit that I watch it! Nothing much happens in corrie. I only ever watch it if Michelle Keegan is playing a prominent part in the episode (Friday night for example), but once she leaves I doubt I'll ever watch it. I have T-shirts that are over 30 yrs old that I still wear regularly. Mostly of long-defunct punk bands that I followed as a teenager and still enjoy all these years later. I have a 1983 Discharge tour shirt which is still as crisp as the day it was first screen printed. I've never seen another and its probably worth over £100 but I'd never sell it. Soozy, my condition means that I have to have a machine which pushes out carbon dioxide. Normal lungs do that quite happily, mine are shot so need help. Carbon monoxide is related to heating systems. I could be wrong. [ more ]

It's a real shame that they would not take up the offers and let the giraffe live on somewhere else. It does raise one of those debates about zoo's in general and whether we should have them at all. I do realise some would argue good work is being done through breeding programmes and research into better protecting animals but I can't say I have visited a zoo since I was a nipper. [ more ]
