Former Member This is very distressing, no doubt about it. I cannot understand why anyone would do this to animals. Fair enough, if you do not like dogs, then don't have one, but to do this is beyond just cruelty. 20 weeks is not enough. However, it makes me wonder why the woman who left 4 kids under the age of 5 alone for 24 hours was given a suspended sentence? [ more ]

Real Thanks Dave Be glad when/if we integrate with FB on here. Just got FB on the XBox360 today--- Thought it would be the full Monty- but it's not the same as what we get on the internet. Why couldn't they have made it the same as we get when we are on FB instead of bits of it. We also have Twitter, Talk.Fm and Zune. [ more ]

Former Member No doubt there are abuses during war in our armed forces, it's probably inevitable really, but whether there's a culture of it remains to be seen I think. It's a brutal business, war. There's one benefit anyway; stories like this are a reality check against propaganda and hegemony. I suspect the government is very keen to see the various Hero campaigns put about, and probably encourages them directly, as well as making remembrance events very high profile because it makes it seem unpatriotic... Former Member I didn't realise how close your face is to the scanning thing. I'm not claustrophobic but that made me so queasy mine took 45 minutes for a half body scan. [ more ]

Smarting Buttocks I had a head one a few months ago. I had been advised to not open my eyes once in there. Unfortunately I opened my eyes which was the worse thing I could have done. I'm afraid I rather showed myself up and asked to be brought out. However a very patient radiologist showed me that there was actually a mirror just above that plastic mask imemdiately above my face. This enabled me to see the person in the scanning booth which was some comfort to me. He also warned me each time how long the next... [ more ]
