Do you remember Benidorm from BB10?
Dame_Ann_Average I can never remember anything about Benidorm apart from the plane landing on my arrival <<<l at the wallpaper [ more ]
Eugene's Lair Beinazir secured her TV show before the end of BB10. The rather small scale of both the show and Venus TV was criticized by FMs at the time (myself especially) but it has to be acknowledged that she's done better out of the show than most other BB10 HMs - especially considering that she wasn't even technically a HM... Is it wrong to feel like this?
Bojangles Perhaps you could have a word with him about his behaviour,Try to help him out. You're not living with him thankfully. If he doesn't heed your advice, then I can't see him being in the job long anyway. There for the grace of god so to speak. [ more ]
Rexi I think I would be asking different questions to 'am I wrong to feel like this'. You've only just started working for this company and don't know too much about them. I'd be wanting to find out the history behind this situation. Has this person been spoken to in the past? Has it gone through proper procedures (and what are they?). Have they received ongoing training and support? I don't think that anyone is going to be able to work to their full potential with the threat of losing their job... [ more ]

Have you seen that Sophie Dahl cooking programme?
Jenny Reference: brisket I have not seen it. But I bet it's closely scripted. A couple of weeks ago she was being interviewed "live" on Radio 4 and it was like pulling teeth. She had little or no spontaeneous chat. I agree! She was on The One Show just before her programme was due to start, and I actually felt sorry for Adrian and Christine (for once). It was really hard going! A presenter's worst nightmare guest, I would imagine. [ more ]

advice..please
Demantoid Reference: she's got breast cancer shes only 36 You've only got her word for that - she could be lying to get your sympathy. Going on her past history, she doesn't sound like the most trustworthy person, after all. I'd feel sorry for her if she's so unhappy she needs to bother someone who cut all ties with her so long ago. But I'd still run a mile. [ more ]

Highs and Lows (Acrophobia & Bathophobia)
Rocking Ros Rose I hate heights and enclosed places - When I am really tired and just dropping to sleep - i imagine myself in a high place where I can fall - i wake up petrified - hate flying as well [ more ]
Soozy Woo I am scared of heights in some circumstances .......for instance - standing on a chair to change a light bulb makes me wobble - climbing a ladder - riding a horse. And yet driving over the Humber Bridge holds no fear for me ..........recently though - tickets in the top tier at the O2 had me wobbling ....couldn't have got up to jig about even if you'd paid me - I was gutted. The seating at the O2 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too steep - I think it's sheer greed to pack in so many rows of seats when... [ more ]

Vote for your favourite Big Brother (clips)...
Rawky-Roo My favourite clips are the ones people generally forget BB1: Anna, in the diary room, milking the fact that a toy rocket (which flew over the wall) nearly killed her and the only way to feel better is if BB played a movie and provided drink. BB2: Brian and Narinder, in the garden, miming a game of tennis with over the top grunts. BB3: Alex, in the diary room, asking for some headache tablets as he was sitting on the toilet and pushed too hard BB4: Jon, in the diary room, "Whats happened... [ more ]

The Digital Economy Act and you

brisket Thank you EL. I bow to your knowledge in such matters. And thanks for keeping us abreast of things. [ more ]
El Loro Reference:brisket Your other post suggests that even people completely ignorant of the facts could be in trouble for misuse. You have hit on my main concern about this Act. And of course in the UK, ignorance os the law is no excuse. So for instance, if you find that an item you have purchased turns out to have been stolen, then it will be confiscated, though unless you knew it was stolen you wouldn't face charges. But with this Act, ignorance of someone else's use appears not to matter. We... [ more ]

Tattoo I just mentioned it was a bit unecassery for Jade to even be mentioned as she just so happened to be dead at the time of the alleged offence, I then went on to give my point of view on the discussion topic to further generate conversation,(unlike some) I neither asked nor wished for garage joe to apologise. But now I will speak a bit more about the alleged offence. I do think the lads in question are innocent, and I think it's been a knee jerk reaction from the alleged victim when her... [ more ]

Five things I don't want to see in the last big brother.
Eugene's Lair 1) Manipulation of nominations/evictions (I know other FMs are blaming C4 for this, but I believe Endemol has to take responsibility here.) 2) Ex-HMs (see other thread) 3) Couples, and partners making "surprise" entrances as HMs. 4) Secret Houses (another "surprise" that everyone now expects.) 5) Endemol continually breaching their own "no contact with the outside-world" rule. Needless to say: with this being the last series, and Endemol not having to worry about any come-back, I rather... [ more ]

Gordon Brown has called for General Election on 6 May
Baz Reference: He reminds me of Tony Blair on the run up to the 1997 elections. Oh heck... Please no..... if there is anything likely to make me not vote Conservative it is that [ more ]
Garage Joe Some of the election communications are entertaining and just the ticket for a bit of analysis. My favourite so far was one addressed to Mrs Joe, who is a socialist of the Old Labour school. Coming from the Tory Candidate it describes one of the independent candidates as being a socialist of the Old Labour school and how we musn't vote for her because it might keep the Tories out of power. How's that for an attempt to split the Labour vote? They must think we are daft. Meanwhile the... [ more ]

Phil Mickelson's a genius.
Dame_Ann_Average It was brilliant, although I wanted Lee to win, I just knew he wasn't going to which way Mickleson was playing. he was brilliant, the two consecutive eagles on day three set him up for the win imo. Best one liner from Peter Aliss for me was last year or the year before when he said he was watching Carol Vorderman and got aroused then went onto say he thought he was a great 7 letter word! oh and this year when Mickleson went into the tree's, Aliss said it served him right for looking like... Unhappy with my life , want to run away :(
Demantoid Chicken If you decide this uni course isn't for you, it won't mean you're a failure or a bad person. But I'd echo what others have said - make sure it's really want you want, before you pack it in, and make sure you have an alternative in place. Talk to your student counsellor and maybe even your GP, if you think you're getting unreasonably depressed. They're there to help. [ more ]
Trixy Chicken if you are not enjoying uni then don't worry about disappointing anyone, talk to a tutor they can guide you on whether a different course may be more suitable and if not they will help you with the process of leaving. By continuing with something that makes you unhappy you will only disappoint yourself in the long run. I hope you feel better soon my lovely. Uni isnt for everyone it can be a very difficult place to be. [ more ]
longcat Chicken my eldest did 6 months at uni before he decided he wanted to leave, get a job and start earning money. I told him what I have always told him. "Do what you feel is right for you, nobody else can live your life" Life is way too short to be unhappy. You could be depressed a trip to your doctor may help. [ more ]

El Loro Reference:Brisket 13. The Great Dictator (This is from Chaplin's final speech. There is a cross fade to Paulette Goddard (seen here), then back to Chaplin's speech. Goddard rises to her feet and the final shots of "hope" are portrayed in her face. A, interesting fact about The Great Dictator is that it is believed that Chaplin chose to medel his character complete with moustache after Hitler because Hitler and Chaplin were born within a few days of each other. Sexy_Kelly Cant you tell? lol Seriously i may give it a bad impression but thats probably down to being a barmaid for far too long. Ducky I love those phones too Tina! I was telling my son about them a couple of weeks ago and we had a long discussion about how stupid it was to make the emergency number 999 because it would take you so long to call it. Movie/TV Mistakes?
Bolton Fan Tonight in Casualty when two junior doctors were in a car following another doctor on a motorbike, the road had lines in the middle in some shots and no lines in others and it kept alternating between the two. Also a couple of years ago in Casualty there was a drug addict apparently dead on the toilet but I'd recorded it and kept rewinding it to see her open her eyes - the first time of watching it I thought she was actually supposed to be alive in the storyline and couldn't quite believe it... El Loro The very first howler I can remember seeing was many years ago when the BBC showed Clive of India (made in 1935 starring Ronald Colman). I was only a youngster at the time but I remember a battle scene involving elephants being ridden by the soldiers. Within moments there was a clip in the scene which was an exact repeat of an earlier scene. I have never attempted to re-see this film because it was dreadful. [ more ]
