Rue McClanahan dies
Cinds Reference: When I said good make up and acting I was referring to Blanch ..............not you Hahahahaha I knew that. [ more ]
Soozy Woo Reference: No, I was 16 to 18 at that time, When I said good make up and acting I was referring to Blanch ..............not you I'm sure you look absoloutely fab! [ more ]
Cinds Reference: Surely that was simply good acting and make up .......my guess is that she was acting a part much older than she was. No, I was 16 to 18 at that time, have seen her in a few other things after that, and would have thought she would have been well in to her 80's. [ more ]

Katreya BB9 sex tape...
Rawky-Roo I actually thought the reaction to her eviction was pretty harsh. I get that she annoyed people (by being happy) and probably wasn't expecting to be going but the fact she was balling her eyes out and being booed by the audience was tough to watch. Shame on them I say Sezer and Maxwell's eviction however [ more ]

brisket Welcome to this forum CJ. There are so many rumours going around that I'm not sure what to expect. I think we can pretty much guarantee that there will be plenty of banter on here. I don't want the producers to try too hard and spoil it with silly ideas. Nice to have you around. Hope you enjoy it. (Quiet at the moment, but I'm sure it will soon be busier here.) [ more ]

McDonalds first gay ad?
brisket Nice words Soozy [ more ]
Soozy Woo Reference: Yogi has a point, particularly in view of David Laws having felt unable to tell his family that he was gay. That is indeed incredibly sad. When my son came out (age 18) it was a strange and very different thing we went through as a family ...........certainly not a disaster - simply something we'd not faced before. ...........10 years on - it's all good and we love his partner. There are far more difficult and life changing things to get through than admitting that you're gay... [ more ]

England Flag!
Sarum Reference: Saw this and thought of you Oooh, I like it....thank you [ more ]
cologne 1 Reference: Not really keen on flags Me neither kt. In my daughter's road almost everybody has flags hanging out their windows. I don't like this sudden surge of national pride when we just had months of people saying that we live in 'broken Britain'. Make your minds up. [ more ]
Former Member Reference: Sarum Only slightly related, but... For the last week or two, I've been flying this flag on my car; I've lost count of the number of people who have asked me which country, or football team, it represents.... POLL: Big Brothers BIGGEST Faux Pas, from my choices ;)
darloboy (Play The Game!) I couldn't stand Saskia either Deman , Kemal made me left after Science and Maxwell had the argument about Maxwell accusing Science of trying to injure him by chucking the bin at him when it was wet and it slipped out his hand said ''well at least someone is wet tonight and it's not Saskia'' . I didn't like Adele Roberts in BB3 but I absolutely love her Galaxy Radio show, she seems nice . [ more ]
SazBomb Reference: We were told in advance that the week Ais went, whoever got evicted would go next door and eventually be brought back Exactly, we were always voting for her (or whoever was up that week) to go into the HND, not to be evicted [ more ]
Demantoid Reference: Eugene's Lair and she provided a necessary counterbalance to the rather unpleasant "I'm not racist, but..." Saskia Spot on, I couldn't stand Saskia, or her meathead of a cockney wanker boyfriend. I agree with most of what you say about Makosi, too, although I still think the reception she got was way over the top. [ more ]

Deaths as Israeli forces storm Gaza aid ship
cologne 1 Reference: We recognise Israel as a regional superpower in place to fight a proxy war against Iran. It's a secular democracy and is a huge market for western goods. That's the sort of place we like................. apparently. That's the irony. [ more ]
Garage Joe Reference: No other country could get away with such acts of aggression without facing sanctions and other punishment. As others have said, it is due to USA refusing to ever condemn Israel's cowardly actions. We recognise Israel as a regional superpower in place to fight a proxy war against Iran. It's a secular democracy and is a huge market for western goods. That's the sort of place we like................. apparently. [ more ]
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing Reference: What they did would be called piracy ,if any other country did the same. Piracy in my book. They can say what they like about their troops only having Paintball guns' initially and its laughable them going on about how the people on the ship were armed with knives and sticks/batons etc., but if you were on a ship in international waters and were being boarded in the middle of the night by abunch of people waving guns, are you going to stop and ask if they are Paintball-guns or... The offside rule
Former Member Joe [ more ]
Garage Joe Reference: I just can't find footie interesting, don't understand all the rules (That's exactly how I feel about tennis) The offside rule however is a lot more complex than portrayed here. Let us imagine a game between say Manchester United and the 'Boro. Rule 83b........If Christian Ronaldo receives the ball in an offside position but scores, the goal stands. However if he misses and falls over it's a penalty. Hope this helps. [ more ]

Well done you .........................don't look for help with the cigs (dont make it an excuse) you can very easily do it on your own once you've made your mind up. Terry Pratchett's Going Postal..
SazBomb Reference: However I can see why going postal could leave you a bit meh because unless you have worked in a government like institution like a post office or collected stamps or an interest in economy its not one of his best books. I would read one of his classics like guards guards and see if you like that one more. And if not then he isnt everyones cup of tea. oh I see, that could explain why I was a bit meh! I might give that other one a go, I was left sort of disappointed after Going... [ more ]
Demantoid Reference: It may seem a strange analogy but he is a bit like the Benny Hill of authors. Not that his humour is the same, not at all they couldnt be further apart in that respect. But in the way he is world renowned but without any of the acclaim or awards. I expect they will only realise what they had when he is gone. Bad analogy. I've never read Pratchett (just doesn't appeal to me) but - dead or alive - I loathe Benny Hill. [ more ]
CaptVimes Yes it is. Blizz'ard The French are trying, bless'em, but we can see by the fact that most countries now sing in English (although Iceland used a tiny bit of French in their song) and the hosts spoke English throughout (I think one of them said a couple of sentences in French), that the most widely spoken and understood foreign language in Europe is English! Gay couple sentenced in Malawi
suzybean I am also sorry for being upset...I'm not even from Malawi...I have no idea what goes on there. This is my friend's take on things (via a facebook thread). He is a Human Rights Lawyer based in Zambia (not far from Malawi) so I think he is more informed than me....Dr. Bingu wa Mutharika is the Malawian President. Sarum I am, of course, delighted that Stephen and Tiwo have been released, but they're not out of the woods yet; there is a lot of homophobic sentiment in Malawi, and unless a 'safe house' can be found for them, their physical safety is very uncertain. There are calls for them to be offered asylum outside of Malawi, and enquiries are being made, but nothing is definite yet. And yes, I have noticed that Tiwo is still being misgendered by the various news agencies; I've just written to the BBC to... [ more ]
