SydI haven't got to my age, after ignoring what I know at times, that a little bit of what you fancy does you good, and a lot of what you don't fancy sustains you. [ more ]
Garage JoeIndeed! Mrs Jer said it might have been more exciting to show the bus journey either way between Scarborough, RHB and Whitby. Equally as pleasant scenery but also the entertaining howls and screams from the passengers as the double decker hurtles around blind bends and down 1 in 3 hills. [ more ]

El LoroEC, the fact that the police have charged the man with perverting the course of justice (maximum life imprisonment) rather than with wasting police time (maximum 6 months) shows that they consider this as potentially a serious offence. [ more ]
Enthusiastic ContrafibularitiesI agree Roger it is. But I also think it is extremely serious what he has done (if proven to be the case) particularly as all of the resources and money that will have been ploughed into investigating the allegation could have been spent on other unsolved and present cases. For that reason alone I feel he should be given a hefty fine and a jail term - a message needs to be sent out to people who are stupid enough to think that making hoax calls are just a bit of harmless fun. Cold SweatAlastair Sim rarely did interviews and refused to sign autographs - I doubt he would have fitted in too well with this age of social media and digital fandom! El LoroRe Meryl Streep in that clip. Her first appearance in film was in the 1977 film Julia which I saw back then. She was only in the film for under a minute but her character was so unpleasant that I took an immediate dislike to Meryl Streep and have never liked her. That scene can be seen: http://www.wordonthestreep.com...view-julia-1977.html [ more ]

El LoroBaz, I don't think Channel 4 have said when it will be back. I think they will decide once there's enough material to justify further episodes. The project is due to end around the end of the year so they might have a few episodes say in October and the rest early next year. [ more ]
Yogi19I watched it on Catch Up. I love the relationship between Prue and Tim. [ more ]
CosmopolitanLike most people probably - just trying to keep a grip on it.....and making the most of their time together. It's really very touching to watch how they are with each other and I like how Tim reacts (naturally) when he gets exasperated for a nano second. It's human nature. [ more ]

El LoroThe Youtube clip on the HMRC webpage has been around for some months. I had wondered if it was a hoax but apparently it's genuine. If it was an advert by a non-government business it could be reported to the advertising authorities for being misleading. It's so oversimplistic that one might start laughing if it wasn't for the fact that HMRC are being serious. Total lack of reality. [ more ]

CarnelianAny Tory voters here who feel like giving Labour lectures on anti-antisemitism need to get that under the Tories since 2010 Cameron massively increased arms sales to Saudi Arabia. Eugene's LairAw, shucks... BTW; kudos for finding a rendition of the song that doesn't include the "spoken" section. It's just so earnest that all these years on I still have difficulty listening to it all the way through without wanting to throw up... "That's truth . That's love ." [ more ]
KaffsDid anyone watch? My final opinion was that those I mentioned, Hannon, Buchanan, Mvula were great, the rest was a bit of damp squib. Prententious crap on the whole and Marc Almond ( who I have always liked) was absolutely rubbish and should be ashamed. [ more ]
KaffsMight save the rest of this for later. For now though.. Neil Hannon, Paul Buchanan and Laura Mvula are brilliant. However, I'm wonder if him upstairs might consider trading us back Bowie for a night or two in return for Marc Almond who was appalling.... [ more ]
KaffsNeil Hannon's like the best Bowie tribute act ever. I was in the kitchen when he first started singing and I had to go and look at the telly to see if it was film of Bowie himself [ more ]
El LoroSussex Police said Honeysuckle Weeks was found "safe and well" at a relative's address in London at about 19:45 BST. Her actress sister Perdita Weeks earlier tweeted: "Safe and sound thank you all xxxx". Police added the relative had "contacted police to notify them of her appearance". Enthusiastic ContrafibularitiesTo be honest I can't see the point in C5 having these surveys and less point in any of us completing them.
