10 year old gives birth
stonks Reference: Both of them are under the age of consent Stonks, (if it is true that the father is 13.) I'm assuming that the cultural issue being referred to here is that of Roma gypsys and ref the grandmother's comments, as clearly in neither Romania or Spain is the legal age to marry 10 years old!!! Fwiw, I do think that we should 'intefere' where certain cultural practices result in the abuse or exploitation of children. There have been many cases here where children have suffered the most... liverbird Reference: live in a society where children are sexualised at such a young age, with totally inappropriate clothes for little girls, children's make up ranges, and things like those obscene American beauty pageants. Completely agree! [ more ]
Former Member I think the girl looks a bit older than 10 in the first picture, but not much. I think it's a great shame that children in any culture lose their childhood at such an early age, but sadly some children DO have sex at a very young age, and I can't see how it can be prevented if it's consensual. I work with a number of primary schools, and there have been several occasions when headteachers have found children in Years 5 and 6 engaged in very explicit acts. I also think that many girls reach... [ more ]

Have I Got News for You? New series
Eugene's Lair Reference Carnelian 05 October 2010 at 22:23: It's about time Angus Deyton returned. There's no way Angus Deayton will ever return to the show in its current format. The reason he left was because Ian and Paul refused to work with him. As Paul said to Michael Parkinson, "We stabbed him in the front." Paul Merton never liked Angus: you could often tell there was real bile behind some of his barbs towards Angus. On the other hand, Ian quite liked him, but that changed after the sex-and-drugs... Bullying
longcat Reference: Go to the school and insist they do something about it then. How would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot and that girl's Mother stood by and did nothing if it was your daughter? I have to agree with this post. You have to do something even if you do it anonymously. Before it escalates and get's completely out of control. A child being head butted until her vision is blurry is in danger. [ more ]
Yogi19 Aimee, you should do whatever you think is right, but I would have to contact someone (the school or the girl's mum) and tell them what is going on. Bullies thrive because their victims are afraid to tell. It sounds like this poor girl needs someone to speak up, on her behalf. [ more ]
Blizz'ard Maybe an anonymous phone call to the school the bullies attend, informing them that their kids are targetting kids from other schools and that physical violence has been witnessed, would do some good, if this girl is really sure that she won't report it. [ more ]

PeterCat Reference: What's she done then? Long story, but basically his family don't know that he's gay or even that he lives with anyone, and she announced she was gonna visit from Japan. Result was that I had to move out, along with possessions and cat, until she'd gone. She demanded to visit even though he told her repeatedly that it wasn't convenient, then took over his life while she was here. Let's just say that I'm glad I'm not Japanese! [ more ]

Karma_ Reference: I don't really know too much about Alexandra Burke but she seems quite pleasant and honest in the few interviews I've seen of her. To be fair, he does have a point about Alexandra's interview technique. If you imagine someone being at the complete opposite end of the spectrum to Leona Lewis. E.g., talking to someone with the persona of a corpse in comparison to talking to someone pumped to the gills of LSD and too many e numbers. A happy medium would be most welcome. Perhaps this... Question Time
Carnelian Reference: I'm agreeing with you mate The whole thing has been a farce from conception and it's far from over. This fiasco could well outdo the Thatcher years. Undoubtedly so, this lot will make Thatcher look like a misunderstood sweet old lady by the time they've finished wrecking this country. [ more ]
cologne 1 I think to make a big point about signing a pledge and then doing the diametrically opposed beggars belief, coalition or no coalition. I'm sick to the back teeth of the whining about not knowing the full extent of the fiasco that is our economy. RZB Hiya Croc, He has a great attitude to life in general, it comes across on his radio show.
