Woman gives birth to triplets. At 52 years old.
Former Member I don't know. Of course a 52 year old can be just a good a parent - Elton John has just adopted has he not? And if a 52 year old become pregnant naturally then it should be her choice as to whether she wishes to have the baby or not. However that is because it is nature. For a much older woman to have IVF to have a baby is not nature - it is science. The only other thing I can add is it could get confusing at the post office claiming pension and child benefit at the same time. [ more ]
Former Member Aye....good luck to her and the weans Think she could pull it off. [ more ]
Former Member Reference: A not very common story but getting more common. This woman in the link supposedly got pregnant 'naturally' at 51/52, (not sure if its true or not, because it's seems a bit of a coincidence that she just happened to have a multiple birth which almost always happens with IVF, ) but I guess it's certainly possible to have a natural conception in your early 50s. But is it too old to become a mother/parent? Here is the link to the story... I don't know where you get that idea from. [ more ]

Former Member Yep still here WF. I never said I was going anywhere. Just that I was not posting much for a few days because the forum was slow and a bit lifeless at the mo. Some people mistook that for a flounce. Obviously not reading my posts properly, or more likely they're just seeing what they want to see. [ more ]

Closed eyes
Former Member No you can't sneeze with your eyes open, and it's true that it is because it puts pressure on your eyes. [ more ]
cologne 1 I don't think it's possible to sneeze with your eyes open, kissing is another matter. Depends on the other person. [ more ]
Former Member Reference: Isn't there a myth that if you did sneeze with your eyes open, due to the force, your eyeballs would fly out of the sockets? I heard that too so googled it. It is a myth apparently but it is virtually impossible to sneeze with your eyes open, I have tried, [ more ]

Former Member Yep that's the thing. Same with the police, no Govt wants to go up against them as they need them. My ex Brother In Law works in the Cabinet Office and his work centres around HR and implementation of employment rights/law/condtions etc. I shouldn't think he earns anywhere near 50k a year although he's worked for the civil service for 30 years. Bette Davis films... why are they never shown
Former Member This is something I've wondered for a long time... her films were on tv all the time when I was growing up ( I'm a 70's child ). But honestly, I can't remember a single film of hers being put on a mainstream channel in the past 10 years... she was THE sublime actress... but her films have disappeared off the tv. Why? Your film education isn't complete without a Bette Davis film i.m.o. Am surprised she hasnt been shown on Film4 during the day as they all seem to be pre 1960s and in bw. I am... [ more ]

Unshakeable principles
brisket Many (most) young people think they have all the answers. Later in life they realise they don't. Change is one of life's certainties. But it is the learning as we go through life which teaches us what matters. I am unshakeable on the value of true friends, I am willing to listen on most other things. [ more ]
cologne 1 John Wayne did too. Can't stand the guy. [ more ]
cologne 1 My core values have remained all my life, but I do find that the older I get the more I can contemplate other views even if I don't agree with them. There is no real certainty of anything, we are all fishing around and clinging onto whatever we might believe or hope for. I tell you what though, if I'm wrong with my atheist's views, I shall come and haunt this forum just so you all know there's a life after death. [ more ]

This breast cancer thing
Heatseek ❤️
Aimee Tjanks Gyps, i will be going to see the doctor this week, i've checked and theres no lumps or discharge and no other changes, like you say i think it's more too do with being aware of it that you notice it more, it does seem worse just before starting, it's not a seering pain just more of a dull ache like you've bumped yourself [ more ]
Former Member I think there is something in it. Breast cancer is so prevalent in this country, and we are much worse at looking after ourselves than our some of our foreign counterparts who tend to do much better. We drink far too much, eat a load of manufactured crap full of god knows what and are not the best for keeping up our fitness. I am only 34 and have been for 3 breast scans and one mammogram for lumps and bumps in my time. The result of this is that i know a fair amount of info about breasts and... [ more ]

Blizz'ard Even simpler (a PC GAWN MAD!!1!11 Howler Monkey could grasp it, eventually), it takes years to 'learn a language' and some people are more adept at doing so than others. Learn the basics and get out there! [ more ]
Videostar It's simple really, even a PC brigade monkey sould understand this....ANYONE moving to another country to start a new life where the language is different (BEFORE ENTERING THAT NEW COUNTRY) should have already learned that countries language...and that goes for all those middle aged leathery skinned tossers who leave England to start a new life in Spain or France. It's just lazy to expact the locals to have to speak to you in your language instead of speaking to them in their own... [ more ]

Dallas Returns
cologne 1 Soopse, if enough people put pressure on it, it will happen, as all these things have all over the years. It might take some time, I remember all the different attitudes going on in a wave of roughly a generation, the natural change of things, so I'm hopeful. [ more ]

Former Member Agree with the majority on here. Pete Burns looked good in the 80s and was quite handsome actually. He has really messed up his face. And I also question what doctor(s) would do this. Like I wonder how or why any doctor(s) let Michael Jackson mess up his beautiful face. He was a lovely looking boy with a gorgeous smile, and he ended up looking like he wasn't even human, just like Burns. Difference between Burns and MJ though is that MJ wasn't a C-word of the highest order, and had an extreme... [ more ]
