And yes, bats are wonderful. We have a colony of Soprano Pipistrelles living in the roof above my desk at work. They are my baybee's having rescued three of them that were suffering from malnutrition and dehydration earlier in the year. We also have at least 4 other species of bats in the grounds at work. Ha ha ha joe - Saturday and Sunday mornings the country lanes round here are teaming with newbie MAMIL's (middle aged men in Lycra). They have ALL the kit - the pointy aerodynamic hats, the camel back water bladders, the neon coloured Lycra outfits. They almost pull it off on the flat, but look a bit stoopid when I pass them pushing their bikes up the steep bits [ more ]
Cycling used to be an unusual interest but since the TDF and Olympics one can't move for 'em. I'm expecting lots of bargains soon as the punctures begin to occur and people can't be arsed. [ more ]

My biggest problem with Danica is that she schmoozes everyone. Boy, man, girl, woman. She can't help herself. She seems to have studied ppl and their reactions and she plays up to that. She's always just honest, just right, just innocent enough to make the other person look silly and her look reasonable. She's a predator of the highest order. [ more ]

I've seen what others have seen re Danica and her flirting skills but I decided I'm glad she stayed. I've looked at some others in there who are regarded as Brit celebs and personally I've not seen they've contributed anything worth watching. I would endorse EFFT in eating a lot of times a day, but not very much. Dieting is wrong in my eyes. All it needs is smaller portions and a wee bit of excercise. If you have a problem with your thyroid levels it's a different thing all together. The only person to be of help is your doc. [ more ]
Hi Toffeekins - sorry you're feeling so tired and grotty. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid about 10 years ago - have been on Thyroxine ever since. I was actually been tested because of something else, but was discovered then. Like you, I had put on some unexplained weight and felt absolutely exhausted all the time. Mine did change very quickly so I was put on a low dose of Thyroxine (which has since gone up and up and I'm on a really high dose now), but I have read really good... [ more ]
