Kaffs Finally watched this, Fluffs. Very touching - I really felt for your sister when she was reading the report in the paper for the first time - and when she finally found his Walter's resting place. I agree with Cosi, it was lovely the way she kept referring to 'her sisters' (and I'm thinking 'you mean our Fluffs' That's a lovely gesture from the French lad too. [ more ]

These alchohol-unit pricing proposals stink.
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities My understanding is that these proposals will only affect very cheap alcohol. The prices we pay in the pubs will not change as the unit price is already above the threshold. Edit: Forgot to add that I am an infrequent drinker, ironically going out tonight, but that's because I have a friend up from Birmingham. But I will probably only have two pints and then coffee or soft drinks. [ more ]

Former Member I have a few friends who were made redundant lately. They were sent to these back to work schemes. All that seems to happen is people fill in forms and CVs - there are no real job opportunities and the rare occasions they do go to work, it's only ever for a 6 month period and then they are let go and the next lot arrive. Most people who are serious, get jobs of their own accord, but this group cheekily claim those people as having got their jobs through this scheme more governmental fudging... [ more ]
