BB is “absolute nonsense” says Michael McIntyre
Dirtyprettygirlthing I don't think Michael McIntyre is all that.... I'd heard good things about him before I knew who he was. Was a bit let down when I finally saw him. He has probably made me smile slightly... about once... but the rest of his stuff is weak IN MY OPINION! [ more ]
Irish-Princess Micheal Mc Intyre is one of the best Comedians out there at the moment, he is truly hilarious. I'm going to see him in Belfast in October. [ more ]
Penelope Pitstop Every year i say i'm not watching this crap again, but i do. The show has gone stale and predictable and I fully expect there to be twists and turns which generally turn out to be a pile of poo but i'll watch and moan and groan and get involved as always. [ more ]

My claim to fame
Former Member Patrick McGoohan the actor best known for The Prisoner (the young amongst us probably won't know this show but Lost and programmes like it were influenced by it) anyhoo he was my cousin once removed - my mom and him were first cousins if that makes any sense [ more ]
Queen of the High Teas I spent an afternoon in 1989 serving several rounds of lager in my dad's pub to Marty Pellow and Wet Wet Wet. Marty Pellow was very chatty/flirty but got totally pished very fast and was not nearly as twinkly as I'd hoped he'd be. Didn't stop me calling all my mates and telling them how gorgeous he was though. I also remember having George Melly come in for his lunch. He was really nice but he stank. [ more ]

stupidcupid Its all over now. It was just another singing and dance act straight out from the old variety show. Using Susans boyles learning difficulties to maximise and advertise the show is the most disgusting thing I have seen on Bgt yet. [ more ]

My dog is driving me nuts
Mauser So sorry to hear about Milo - please take comfort in the fact that he is running free at the Rainbow Bridge and no doubt having a great time playing with my oldies up there too. http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html * do not watch this link in company, it's emotional - but in a good way* It sounds like young Mimi is a typical puppy lol, there's already been some sound advice on this thread about yelping to let her know it hurts when she bites - that's how they learn what's... Dirtyprettygirlthing My dog has the RIGHT hump this evening. He went for his summer crop today. Although he is a cairn, and they shouldn't be clippered (they are supposed to be stripped... as in plucked...), we have him clippered all over every summer... cos his coat was designed for the Highlands... and we are in Essex! He normally loves going to the poodle parlour... and loves it when he comes back all handsome (with tiger stripes). But they've squirted something nasty smelling on him... it smells like really... HyacinthB Oh please no more of that awful man and his equally horrid girlfriend. Surely BB can't foist more of him on us? Oh well, I guess it stands to reason he'd actually want to go on the show at some point rather than being an habitual guest on all the BB spin-off shows! [ more ]

Top 5 MISUNDERSTOOD Housemates
Sarum I don't agree with anyone attempting to change their gender either, but that's because I know, firsthand, that it can't be done. Our gender is preset before birth, and, despite the fact that it usually coincides with the shape of our bodies, it's not defined by, or dependent on that shape. But I also believe that it's unacceptably rude to consider one's own belief about someone's gender to be more valid than their own self-identity. Calling a trans woman 'him', 'her/him' or even 'it' does... [ more ]

*BB* I remember Corornation Day clearly too. My mother was in hospital in labour, my baby sister was born the next day so my grandmother was looking after us during the day as daddy was at work. My local primary school had a big Field Day to celebrate the coronation. I came third in the fancy dress competition and won a coronation mug and a commemorative 5 shilling coin. I came third in a race and won a coronation mug and a commemorative 5 shilling coin. The local council gave all the children in... [ more ]

Has every one seen the house
Mazzystar Seen the smoking area which looks like a bus stop [ more ]
Former Member I've only seen 2 pictures online - one in what I presume to be the main room of the house which contained three crates and one in the garden by the smoking area. It does look tiny, especially the living area which will be even smaller when it's eventually furnished. Are there any more pics anywhere, does anyone know? [ more ]

Former Member I got back from holiday and found that an employee of Bristol Airport had wrecked mine. They tried to say I'd driven it and parked it in the condition it was in. Thankfully, the loss adjustor disagreed strongly. Result....a brand new Rav4 for 4 months, and all I had to fork out for was the petrol. Chancers! [ more ]

Ofcom investigating complaints over Susan Boyle treatment...
Leccy Yes Hyacinth. Perhaps Piers needs to take a look at the kind of trashy media reporting he helped build to the monster it is today. [ more ]
HyacinthB Absolutely Leccy - according to her brother, Susan attended normal schools so she obviously wasn't considered a special needs child. I believe she has just led a very simple life, perhaps rather insular to some degree. She is just not worldly wise and not well versed as to how cruel life can sometimes be. Whilst she chose to enter the show, she certainly never expected this level of interest. She has been catapaulted from obscurity to fame and did not possess the ability to cope with it. It... [ more ]
Clumsycat It was inevitable really, she was built up & up, interviewed here & America,, talked to Oprah & generally nade to feel she would be the winner. With the greatest of respect she is not all there due to an incident during her birth... so when she lost the contest it probably was not something she thought would ever happen & `lost it`. Now I am not exactly a fan of her voice, it is adequate at best but its a shame she ever entered this contest in the 1st place imo as it seems to... [ more ]

Anyone wear contact lenses?
Mauser Owww! I've had this happen a couple of times too - years ago I must have been unlucky enough to get a bad batch and they kept breaking up while I was wearing them. I just kept flushing my eye with saline solution and then blinking a lot to try and get the bit/s back to the front where I could then fish them out but as Jonono says you might just have scratched your eye, that makes it feel like there's something in there too. Either way, if your still in a lot of discomfort tomorrow I think... [ more ]
jonono Mummy Maz, I once lost half a lens in my eye, got it out by pouring a bottle of mineral water in my open eyeball it isn't painful but will flush it out. Failing that you may have scratched you eye with the rubbing. I once had a scratched cornea if it is really sore ( I felt like I had pulled a muscle in my eye then after a day or two it went totally red) then go straight to hospital as they will need to treat it with drops. [ more ]
Ells Maz that has happened to me and the more I panicked about it the sorer my eye got. It can't actually go anywhere so it will come out eventually but I don't think you should wear another pair until te first one re-appears. Just massage round your eyelids and it should eventually come out. [ more ]

How can you have exhaustion from singing 3 times?
HyacinthB I do hope the powers that be behind BGT tell the downmarket rags to lay off her. [ more ]
jonono Ironically now she has gone for some help it makes her a bigger story for the press as well. She won't get much peace when she's out I reckon. [ more ]
Barolo Well said Hyacinth! Even for a person without learning difficulties the pressure would have been great. The Sun has practically stalked the poor woman over the past few weeks and given her a very hard time. Shame on them! [ more ]
