Comic Relief - Face the Funny
Carnelian They need to ship out the old bores like Dawn French, Rowan Atkinson and Lenny Henry. Not that they will, it's always been Lenny Henry's gig, despite no one finding him funny for over 20 years. Davina McCall has never been funny in the least, so why she's got the gig is beyond me. It would be nice if they pitched some of the comedy above 11 year olds too. Comic Relief is about as funny as being kicked in the head. [ more ]
Carnelian After watching boring old Mr Bean I gave it rest. Each to their own but I tuned in and heard some excruciatingly awful singing from a bloke on a piano accompanied by another I assume was Sam Smith. The bloke on the piano was singing in that style the X Factor loves so much, which I personally can't stand. I seriously couldn't stand it and had to switch over. [ more ]

The People's Strictly for Comic Relief
Cosmopolitan Hurrah..! I was busy stuffing my face at the time but couldn't contain a big grin....mouth full of pilau rice displayed to a bemused (not to say revolted) husband. And yeah, that segment was far too brief. Why not let all the contestants dance again tonight - for fun? Another series of the general public please. [ more ]

Cats the musical is dead to me. DEAD

Rexi I've never seen Cinds ... I'm not a cat lover and I've always imagined the actors to look like, well, cats ... and that's enough to put me off! I share your disappointment though. We went to see Dirty Dancing on Boxing Day. I was so looking forward to it. It was dire. Wooden, no passion, pedestrian, bloody awful. Not a musical, but we went to see One Man, Two Guvnors on Saturday. I laughed every last scrap of make up off my face. Can thoroughly recommend it [ more ]

Eugene's Lair The following is just a bit of fun, but be warned that it contains spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen Tuesday's episode yet... One of the most amusing things about EE for me is the complicated mesh of relationships between characters. Ben being Peter's uncle (although technically only half -uncle) is at the centre of a lot of this. For example, when Peter was dating Lola, he was dating the mother of his cousin (Lexi): i.e. his own aunt! (Though thankfully not by marriage...) Now we've got... [ more ]
