How many times did it take you to pass your driving test?
Ms Golightly I passed that test in two times! (name that tune anyone?! ) Best thing I ever did - at the age of 44. Anyone procastinating or saying they're too old - just do it! Honest to goodness - you'll love it. It was the one thing I wsh I had done whilst young, and have ensured that both of my children drive, because it's like having an extra qualification. I've only had my car since August and already feel like I would give up ANYTHING to make sure I keep that car! [ more ]
The Devil In Diamante Reference: from learning to drive, theory test, safety questions under bonnet and then the other questions the examiner asks and then the actual test, from what my mates have said its sooo hard these days..and the worse thing is as my d instructor said they are constantly adding more driving test routes and they are getting harder!!! I cant imagine ill pass 1st time atall, im not a nervous person but i lay money i will be a jelly! I had to go through all the questions the 2nd time as the... [ more ]
Former Member First time for me, then I went out on my own, tried to parallel park and nearly ended up in Wallis' window! Been driving for 27 years and have had several points for silly things, e.g. going 34 in a 30 and once for reading a text message. Went on one of those 'speed awareness' courses over in Preston last year and thought it was brilliant, I was expecting slapped hands and scary stuff about killing children, but it was more of an advanced driving course: half a day in the classroom then half... Catholic church in Ireland..
Tayto. This is why it's all so sad Ella. There are lots of good Priests out there and because of all this they can't be trusted. I feel for them at the moment. [ more ]
Ells What is angering a lot of people is the way Priests are moved around after a report of abuse. They never seem to lose their job, only leave the diocese quietly an then turn up at another parish miles away. The whole system in the Catholic Church is fooked up, I hate that they have me questioning my faith and questioning how much I want the school to teach my kids on the subject. I grew up wiht parents who didn't force us to go to church because they themselves had been forced to go and had... [ more ]
Former Member I think there are many reasons why people joined the priesthood, not all of them were based on faith, we all know that. I don't know if it has any relevance, but I was reading the Murphy Report this morning, now again this is only based on abuses in Dublin, but apparently the ratio was 2.3 boys to 1 girl. How very dare you crossy [ more ]

Is it always a good thing to say exactly what you think?
Former Member I was at my mother in law's last week for dinner, two distant relatives and their wives were over from Norway for a visit so it was a bit of a family thing. Anyhow my hubby's ickle nephew (only 6) kept whispering to me about the other people in the room. I told him it was rude to whisper...and he replied 'No it's not, otherwise people would hear the mean things you're saying abou them'. So the moral of the story is...say what you want, but say it in a whisper [ more ]
cockney-chick Reference Mount Olympus: Also why do people think it is a good personality trait to have. .they boast. .'I speak my mind all the time and say it how it is'... to me that translates to I am a ignorant git and don't give a shit about hurting others feelings but woe betide you say something nasty (and probably true) to me.. Reference Suzi Q: If someone wants my honest opinion, I will give it (No, I don't really think that suits you), but I try not to be nasty or harsh with it. I'm careful what... [ more ]
LowonIQ I think I speak my mind, but only to very close family or friends and with regard for their feelings, and would not say it if I thought it would hurt them. So with a bit of a reality check I probably don't speak my mind very much. I do try to be honest and truthful with all the above proviso's though, so will be truthful, but maybe not the whole truth. It's not fair to share without due care. [ more ]

CAST OFFS. CHANNEL 4 TOMORROW (Tuesday 24th Nov)
brisket I don't think I can watch it - I have such a dislike for Mat Fraser. (Sorry Leccy ) I find him cocky and too full of himself. I also think he has based too much of his career on aiming to shock. I don't know if that is over-compensation or not but it makes me want to slap him (metaphorically.) I have always thought he has too little desire to merge, and too great a desire to stand out. (Again `sorry` Leccy - I send you a warm friendly smile.) [ more ]

♥PinkBabe1966♥The Angel under the tree! Whoever made the comparison of George W Bush to a chimp is being deeply offensive to chimps - they are intelligent and lovely, he is neither of those things. Former Member Reference: If she wasn't charged then there shouldn't be any criminal record. There might still be something the Independant Safeguarding Authority have stored even if she wasn't charged. It depends on what the arrest was for. The ISA consider soft information, such as hearsay and rumour and other sorts of unfounded suspicion, relevant for the checks and a CRB check may pull up ISA data depending on the application I think. Did anyone see Paradox last night?
Garage Joe Reference: Who did the good acting? All of 'em. I normally watch soaps. Bearing in mind that they were fiming Heartbeat this April and that it won't be shown until next April, I fail to see how Paradox ripped off Fastforward, Unless it came through to their computer as a result of sun flare activity. see what I did there? etc.) [ more ]

Teddy Bleads No offence, but I thought it was laughably bad. the effects were good but the script and plot was so "hollywood" that they must have taken every screenwriting cliche and tried to work it in.Very predictable. It was flipping long as well. I actually did laugh at the bit with the queen and the crack in the sistine chapel. Thandie Newton is always nice to look at but that's about it....soz .
