Karma_Reference: I will be alone on Christmas day. I will have Remy, my Service Dog for company, so it will be another day just the same as any other for us. If anyone is at a loose end - or needs a break from the relatives, noise etc. - then I will be on here and would be delighted to chat. I'm sure I'll be kicking around on here. I cant drink so I'm gonna be as sober as a Priory resident sadly Hope a few more will be able to pop on aswell [ more ]
The Devil In DiamanteMe and the OH are at my Mums, think the Royle Family but twice as bad **sighs** 'twas meant to be the first Christmas in years me and my 2 Sisters would be at Mums BUT my younger Sister was supposed to be working, but isn't now...hmmmm, very convenient....she is on her way to her BFs Parents in Wiltshire (it wasn't pre-planned though)...... My older Sister doesn't want to drive from Wolverhampton in this weather so it's just little old me AGAIN!!!! ...can't wait until it's all over and we... [ more ]

TriggersReference: Triggers!! I love Tommy Hardy......phwoar! from Rocknrolla and Layercake... He's in the Kleenex advert too! Hmm that sounds a bit wrong! Lacey! Isn't he gorgeous? He recently played Heathcliff on TV too - I love him in the Kleenex advert, I've never seen such good acting in an ad! [ more ]
Crunchy NutsClearly you are incapable of accepting that someone has an opinion that is different to yours. I never once stated that Twitter is a credible news source. You selectively quoted my post to make it look like that is what I said (anyone can do that, cleverclogs), when infact what I said was that ASHTON KUTCHER (someone who was close to Brittany) is a credible source for the particular piece of news in question, the fact that his comments were on twitter wasn't really the point. Has that now... [ more ]
DemantoidI don't know what I'm getting annoyed about. Someone who thinks Twitter is a credible news source, then describes my highly qualified OH and his colleagues in BBC News as "amateur" clearly has no idea how a news organisation is run. But that's par for the course for a generation of soap-watchers who have watched soap "journos", confuse it with real life and think they know how the job's done. You clearly have no idea. End of chat. [ more ]
Crunchy NutsI'm sorry, but how does me criticising a broadcasting corporation equate to criticising someone's occupation? That's like me saying I think Liverpool FC are an amateur, badly run football club/company, and then Steven Gerrard taking it as though I'm criticising his occupation or his ability as a footballer. I don't mind people criticising the company I work for. As you asked, I'm a student, but work part time at a print company. They aren't the greatest, no. [ more ]
Garage JoeReference: If people who bought this - time and again in some instances - DON'T think they were manipulated then they are very naive. We bought it in the 90's and didn't think we were being manipulated. How naive we were. [ more ]
Tayto.Reference: stupidcupid Its a bit ironic that in order to protest against the so called "machine" that you have to spend money in order to further enrich it. I think the whole thing is just another cynical marketing ploy and people have been duped by all the hype. Think you might be right here. Whatever you think about X Factor RATM is brutal. Shame Simon couldn't have come up with a better one for Joe. It was never going to be No 1. [ more ]

blondiecatI moved to Birmingham nearly 6 years ago to be with my partner. I admit that before I knew him, Birmingham wasn't bottom of the list of places I thought I might ever live - it didn't even make it onto the list. I came here because his plan to move to Yorkshire feel apart when the company he was going to work for went bust a week before he was due to start. (Thank god it wasn't a week after!) We'd had enough of the distance relationship by then so I just packed up and came down here and I... [ more ]
Starfleet Admiral hoochiei lived in Birmingham for six years - and loved it! Still try to get back for weekends a couple of times a year to go shopping - they really have done wonders around the Bullring it looks almost continental [ more ]
MoominReference: Agree with everything both Pengy and Frosty said, Brum is a great place to shop and the German Market is great as well. We are constantly overlooked by the rest of the country or still seen as the city with all the nasty concrete buildings, most of the worst ones have gone now and Town as we call it as well, is great for shopping and is much safer now I must admit to not having had a very good impression of Birmingham beforehand, for exactly the reasons you said - so I am glad to... DemantoidI really liked the Hovis one, and remember sitting open-mouthed at the telly the first time it was shown in full. I thought the way it captured British history from the past century was brilliant. But the Sony Bravia ones are bordering on art - I remember hearing at the time that it was all done for real, with no computerised effects, which makes them even more amazing. My OH saw a brilliant one in the cinema that hasn't been shown on telly, as far as I know. It's a variation on the... [ more ]
Karma_The Honda ads are frickin amaaaaazing! And was surprised that the ad with the pain exploding out of the tower blocks wasn't computer generated They did that manually, 15,000 explosions of paint or summat Same with the bouncing coloured balls one, that was done manually aswell. Wasn't in agreement that the Hovis ad should have one, out of all them was the least memorable for me Really enjoyed that programme though [ more ]
DemantoidIt was good, even if I never saw it first time around. I'd forgotten how mindlessly funny the "wassup" ones were, too! [ more ]

Karma_I do NOT have elaphantitis I'm lucky to have been graced with good ankles (just the rest of me that's a bit cockeyed). They are for everyone Danjay, although they are usually advertised with the older person in mind. Although I have had a thought, yes they're great for watching tele, knitting, solitaire etc, but what about when I want to walk about (toilet trip/cup of tea/going to get my ready make cake from kitchen)...I would need another pair of slippers for this purpose, so am now... Former MemberReference: You were scared on the London eye??? We had Tussaud's season tickets a few years back, and we went on the London Eye several times. The last time, we took my friend and her daughter, and by the time we were half way up to the top, I realised that she was the only person in the pod who was still sitting down. Then I realised her knuckles were white from where she was gripping the seat, And her eyes were shut. And she was praying quietly. She never bothered to tell me that she was... [ more ]

Former MemberReference: This is yet another example of where knife crime isn't taken seriously - I thought there was supposed to be a minimum sentence of 5 years or so for carrying a knife let alone brandishing it in a break in! Former MemberReference: I still don't really blame him for what he did. I may have done the same given what the bloody toerags seemed to be intending to do. I think most people would agree with this DanJ but most would also agree that Hussein took things too far with the type of punishment he dished out. As there were so many of them, perhaps they should have sat on him and called the Police This is yet another example of where knife crime isn't taken seriously - I thought there was supposed to be a...
