Chilcot report - military action at that time was done before the peaceful options had been exhausted
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities Chilcot - A place where a very relaxed infant lays. [ more ]
Amythist It annoys me that an inquirey has taken so long and tells us something we already knew...and over a million people marched, people who for the most part had never marched before, who felt so strongly that it was wrong, were ignored....that was what we were used to under Thatcher and it caused great disillusionment with New Labour [ more ]

Garage Joe So one can get rid of them? Who knew? (answer=most of us) Currency tanked. Bank shares ruined, Economy in a "challenging" situation. Billions of quantative easing. Crisis of Hegemony all round. Very slight destabilisation of the rest of our community. Let's blame Charlotte Church! etc. Ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Eugene's Lair Me too - and "Silent Running". Oh dear; it's becoming another bad week, isn't it? [ more ]
El Loro EC, one of the other script writers of Silent Running was Steven Bochco who subsequently became one of the major creators and writers of US police series - Hill Street Blues, L A Law, NYPD Blue and others. And although Silent Running is Douglas Trumbull's most important film as a director, his work on special effects on science fiction films is as important as anyone in the history of film (2001, Close Encounters, the first Star Trek film, and Blade Runner) [ more ]

Eugene's Lair To be fair, this was actually in the SNP manifesto for the recent Scottish Parliament election, so it's hardly a surprise. A second referendum would be considered if there was majority support in Scotland for it, and remaining in the EU against a Brexit was always listed as one of the situations that might swing it. (Mind you, I was a bit surprised at how little it was mentioned during the referendum (at least South of the border), as you'd think the risk of the UK splitting would be a... [ more ]

New form of "tech support" scam to be aware of
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities No they don't give up Baz and it's not likely they will either. We as users must be ever vigilant and I think there is some personal responsibility on each of us to understand how financial institutions communicate with us and to be suspicious of anything that looks irregular or untoward. I don't even respond to texts from my bank. I don't use hotspots for online banking as they can be spoofed. Always use my data allowance. In fact if I don't know the caller on my mobile I never answer. Call... [ more ]

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing He keep on about how we should listen to the experts, who don't think we should leave the EU. But I reckon HE'S not listening, because as far as I see, the experts have only ever said 'IT COULD'. In my book that means there's as much chance that 'IT COULDN'T'! [ more ]
