ex-Girls Aloud Nadine's single sells just 117 copies on first day
Elkie Nadine is seriously in need of a good feed which should go to those threads with knots in them(her legs), why would any young person want to be like her? She has not a bad voice but..oh dear what ? [ more ]
Karma_ However, I still think Alexandra is the most established artist vocally (technically speaking) to have won thus far. [ more ]
Karma_ Reference: I don't really know too much about Alexandra Burke but she seems quite pleasant and honest in the few interviews I've seen of her. To be fair, he does have a point about Alexandra's interview technique. If you imagine someone being at the complete opposite end of the spectrum to Leona Lewis. E.g., talking to someone with the persona of a corpse in comparison to talking to someone pumped to the gills of LSD and too many e numbers. A happy medium would be most welcome. Perhaps this... Question Time
Carnelian Reference: I'm agreeing with you mate The whole thing has been a farce from conception and it's far from over. This fiasco could well outdo the Thatcher years. Undoubtedly so, this lot will make Thatcher look like a misunderstood sweet old lady by the time they've finished wrecking this country. [ more ]
cologne 1 I think to make a big point about signing a pledge and then doing the diametrically opposed beggars belief, coalition or no coalition. I'm sick to the back teeth of the whining about not knowing the full extent of the fiasco that is our economy. Vince Cable was celebrated as the best economist the world has ever seen, but he didn't know the state of our finances? Give me a break. [ more ]
Prometheus Reference: if you don't like them chucking out almost all their manifesto and in many cases doing the opposite to what they promised voters, you just don't understand the new politics! I'm agreeing with you mate The whole thing has been a farce from conception and it's far from over. This fiasco could well outdo the Thatcher years. [ more ]

El Loro Well done Eugene's Lair, you are correct again As no-one else has posted an answer, I confirm that the answer is 2001 A Spance Odyssey. For the benefit of others: Throws a bone is the scene where an ape throws a bone into the air, and as it spins the scene shifts time to show a space ship in place of the bone. Can't afford a fancy wedding actually rather slow and low refers to the scene where Hal the homicidal computer is put out of action with the computer boards being removed. As this... [ more ]

Excel help
El Loro I have found this mentioned on a website: Auto_Open set to guarantee Calculation is turned on (#autocalc) I had trouble with Recalculation being turned off that I put code into Auto_Open to fix it. Turned out that it was an Addin that I wasn't even using that was causing this. Kaffs Hi Saz and thanks. Nope the forumulas look correct and clicking in the formula bar forces it to update. I think I may have sussed it though..... somehow the tools/option/calculate function is set to manual. Changed it to automatic and it seems ok. ( I bloomin' love the internet!) Scary how that could happen without my knowledge though and if it hadn't been so glaringly obvious with the thing I was doing the model would be totally screwed. [ more ]

RZB Hiya Croc, He has a great attitude to life in general, it comes across on his radio show. He hates bringing his personal life into the show, I love his story of floating around in the lazy river in Orlando, not a care in the world, and some one shouted to him did he know how Millwall got on that day, He didn't know and didn't want to know, he was away to get away from home life, The person then gave him the score anyway, 0-6 at home to Rotherham, [ more ]

Moviewatch: films you have seen and hated
El Loro Reference: I liked Citizen Kane and I'm a contrary bugger usually, so more than prepared to rubbish it if it was worthy of such treatment. I had a look at a thread on IMDB on Citiizen Kane asking whether people liked this film, and based on the responses it appears that you are in the majority and that my comment about few people (i have corrected my typo) liking it is wrong. By the way I was not rubbishing the film, just responding to jackassfan's list of films he disliked rather than... [ more ]
Carnelian Reference:El Loro I suspect that one of the most famous films ever made - Citizen Kane - no matter how much one can appreciate it from a technical viewpoint, very few point could say that they liked it I liked Citizen Kane and I'm a contrary bugger usually, so more than prepared to rubbish it if it was worthy of such treatment. [ more ]
Carnelian Superman Returns is just awful in so many ways. 1) A 'superkid' 2) Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane is supposed to be around 22-24 but is also supposed to have won the Pullitzer Prize for journalism and had a kid by Superman some six years previously, when she would therefore been between 16-18! Not many 16 year olds who can say they've won a Pulitzer Prize for journalism! So potentially Superman is the sort of guy who gets a 16 year old girl knocked up and then just disappears for six years! 3)... [ more ]
