Former MemberReference: For anyone who's not read the article, that's the essence of it right there. Well said Fracas And as for the report, well all the evidence I see in the pics, (as opposed to the report,) is of one room that looks stripped ready for decorating and a wheelie bin that's a bit overflowing, (and, I suppose, with 12 kids that's inevitable.) cologne 1I've been in lots of ambulances because my ex husband liked to kicked the carp out of me, lately I've been in a couple of ambulances because I had a chest invection and was on the verge of death. I have been in a police car (to my shame) in 1988 when I drove under the influence and crashed the car and I have been in a police car and a cell when I was drunk and peed off and sat in the middle of the road with my best mate and she played guitar and we were singing folk songs. A taxi stopped and... [ more ]
LeccyAn ambulance crashed into my Dad's care and totalled it. They jumped out, asked if he was ok, when he said yes they said gotta go, jumped back in and sped off to whatever emergency they were en route to. He was fine...when the Police got there they chuckled about it. [ more ]

Former MemberI don't know. Of course a 52 year old can be just a good a parent - Elton John has just adopted has he not? And if a 52 year old become pregnant naturally then it should be her choice as to whether she wishes to have the baby or not. However that is because it is nature. For a much older woman to have IVF to have a baby is not nature - it is science. The only other thing I can add is it could get confusing at the post office claiming pension and child benefit at the same time. [ more ]
Former MemberAye....good luck to her and the weans Think she could pull it off. [ more ]
Former MemberReference: A not very common story but getting more common. This woman in the link supposedly got pregnant 'naturally' at 51/52, (not sure if its true or not, because it's seems a bit of a coincidence that she just happened to have a multiple birth which almost always happens with IVF, ) but I guess it's certainly possible to have a natural conception in your early 50s. But is it too old to become a mother/parent? Here is the link to the story... I don't know where you get that idea from. [ more ]

brisketMany (most) young people think they have all the answers. Later in life they realise they don't. Change is one of life's certainties. But it is the learning as we go through life which teaches us what matters. I am unshakeable on the value of true friends, I am willing to listen on most other things. [ more ]
cologne 1My core values have remained all my life, but I do find that the older I get the more I can contemplate other views even if I don't agree with them. There is no real certainty of anything, we are all fishing around and clinging onto whatever we might believe or hope for. I tell you what though, if I'm wrong with my atheist's views, I shall come and haunt this forum just so you all know there's a life after death. [ more ]
