PeterCat It's very close to the Tohoku quake epicentre. I hope the people are safe. It must make things even more difficult in the places they're trying to rebuild. I'm hoping it'll settle down by the time I go out to Tokyo in July/August. [ more ]

Demantoid About time it was increased. C4 spent less and less on that show every year, and it showed. People in there chased "fame" because they knew they could earn as least as much as the prize money on the outside, from the trash mags. Now, if Tyra Banks could just be persuaded that a "Wun Hundred Thowsand Dollar Contract" with Cover Girl just ain't what it's cracked up to be any more, compared to when the show started 15 years ago... Former Member Yeah, apparently they're saying if you can bend to pick up a pencil or turn a tap on you're fit for work I know someone who had a stroke in his 20's by some freak thing and gets around with a walking stick now (he's 58) and no way could he bend to pick up a pencil but he can use a computer and do limited housework..........is he able to work one wonders [ more ]

CD's were supposed to be the way forward
Carnelian CD is still the most portable format. I can't play MP3s or any other music file in my car or on my CD player. On the other hand, I can't play CDs on my mobile phone. MP3 is a good way to have lots of music at hand to put on an MP3 player or micro SD card for your mobile and it cuts down on storage space, without too much lose of quality. Thankfully the dark days of DRM on CDs and MP3 files are receding. I've not had any problems in converting all my CDs to MP3. True, there's a whole set of... [ more ]

Dirtyprettygirlthing well.. after a shaky start my lot have really made the effort today... I am a happy bunny. There hasn't been one outburst of bickering (that really is amazing)... there hasn't been any Black Ops on the PS3 going on... hubby done 3 loads of washing (I only had to rescue the odd thing out of the tumble dryer whilst he wasn't looking).. son gone to have a bath without the usual 2 hour argument about why he should. daughter walked the dog 3 times, and bitten her lip when provoked by her brother. suzybean Gawd, if ever there was a meeting of equals then it was the day I met my husband. We are almost interchangeable when it comes to household chores/childcare/responsibilty. Small differences include me not having the weight/strength to be a prop forward in a rugby scrum and him not gossiping on forums. [ more ]
