I'm proud to say - that three of our shops are 5* ...........the other one is 4* and that is simply because the 'daily diary' wasn't on premises that dAy as the manager had taken it home to fill in. The sad thing is ......................I do know that the majority of inspectors are basically crap!.Many, many takeaways never even get a visit because the inspectors wouldn't know where to begin ..........they also know that they'd lay down conditions that they know would never, ever be met. Some haven't been inspected yet Smarting, hopefully they're going to be done though and you can see the standard of food you're getting. [ more ]

That was heartbreaking to watch I agree with Blizzie's post above ^^ financially with everything going up and all these cuts not enough jobs/houses etc unfortunately it is going to get worse for the most vulnerable this video has been an eye opener, all of the children were lovely and did not expect or want much from life only a decent home/clothes to keep them warm and enough food to eat I did not know wether to smile or cry when the boy at the end said he would be getting free school... I don't think I put them down at any time. I have been that family. I learned the hard way and taught myself how to budget. These families are being let down they are not being told what they are entitled to and they are not being taught how to use what they have to help themselves. It should be taught at an early age in schools. We teach people lot's of things but we don't teach them life skills. [ more ]

Indeed sparkles, from my recent experience in job hunting, it's certainly not uncommon to attend interviews at what are considered professional companies and wait weeks and weeks for a reply. In my experience, it's not unusual to get no reply at all. Yet these long term unemployed all got interviews and all got calls back almost instantaneously. To me, it just seemed like the Barclaycard commercial stretched from 40 seconds to 90 minutes and a bit of a feel that it written for an American audience as it played up to so many American comedy perceptions of the UK. anyways i saw that prog, well part of it and the bloke with the huge danglin tum, he wasnt overweight and had a huge stomach that reached the ground due to over eating and ' letting himself get like that' he was an active young man who survived serious injury and was treated with huge doses os streoids, and what we saw on the prog was the result of that. i think i got the right bloke, if im wrong, i apoligise. . Terminate the download, if it's installing, you may have inadvertently started downloading the update again while the update is still being installed causing a conflict. Terminate the download would be my best advice. [ more ]

Have you noticed......it's always in the summer they hike their prices. You don't use as much fuel during the summer months and therefore they think they are conning you I didn't word that properly but I think you know what I mean - . Sort of cushioning the blow [ more ]
I read in the press that a lot of folk are just as badly off as they were in the seventies.Cost wise their wages are stagnant, even lower.However the rich are raking it in.Guess who the Tories are targeting! [ more ]
This is going to have a huge impact on everyone. Everything from fuel, food, insurance etc is bad enough, but we can (to some extent) do something about those. In a harsh Scottish winter (like the last two) wearing an extra sweater just wouldn't do it! And people on fixed incomes are going to feel it more than most. When are we going to rebel???? I wouldn't put my personal files in the hands of a faceless corp like Apple. I wouldn't voluntarily transfer my personal data outside of the country and subject to weaker data protection laws. I really don't see the point. I've never had a hard disk fail on me and I back up everything to drives which are under my control and with a lot more capacity than 5gb. The price of 5gb of storage is under £20. The only benefit that I can see with cloud storage is if your house burns down or gets... [ more ]

As I work for myself I regularly use cheques to pay suppliers and am paid by cheque by many of my clients. The payment to me by by clients is important as cash would be unsafe due to the value of some of my cheques. I don't have anough clients to make it economic to use a credit card machine. Some of my clients do pay me online, but many of them don't use computers. But Pauline Quirke and Danny Miller are fantastic They've really done so well with it. Yes there is still a chart... it's just shit now and full of talentless, autotuned, forgettable artists who are dropped by the record company as soon as they have a song released that doesn't get to number one.... And I don't think that the music is shit today because I am *ahem* over 40: my teenage kids think it as well, and say the 80s music is far superior to the garbage that is around today. I don't see where else music can go now. Surely it's all been done. We had the atonal and dissonant experiments and people messing about with time signatures and multiple key changes. I agree with Carnelian about stuff been rehashed. The populace seem to want the easy option but more importantly no- one wants to appear strange. [ more ]
