Mickey Mouse or Obama?
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing But I think we're looking at it from how it might affect global relations rather than how it will affect the US citizen directly. Whereas when it comes to a home election we're interested in how it affects us personally and the global effect is of much less importance. [ more ]
Yellow Rose I found this an interesting comment on the News. The US Ambassador to the UK was interviewed the day after the election and he said he looked at all the Polls across the UK and found that 91% preferred Obama. That amused me as I couldn't imagine 91% of the population preferring any British politician of any party, but admit I don't know the stats of electoral votes over the years. [ more ]

Which one?
Enthusiastic Contrafibularities I think LOVEFILM is now owned by Amazon. I had a guy at my door that tried signing me up. A colleague of mine buy's blu-rays (was DVD's) watches them and then sells them on very quickly after. The difference is his costs. If he likes the film he keeps it. Would probably work out a lot more than a subscription service, but it works for him. Plus his choice is as big as the retailers stock. [ more ]

Cagney Depends on the circumstances. I've been known to start drinking at 8am while doing the Xmas dinner. On holiday I have a drink by the pool about 10am.
