That's what I was saying earlier. it's always the same. Some self appointed 'community leaders' getting their mug out to the media and blaming the riots on whatever particular agenda they are pushing whether it is drugs, yoof centres, affordable housing etc.
There is serious long term deprivation in London, we have some of the worst, housing shortages, schools, hospitals in the country and still most of the rest of the country seems to think we live a charmed life. Really makes me mad.
But aside from all that I would say this. If you are rioting because you are persuing a political agenda then your targets should be the politicians and the mechanisms of the state.
Not a shop that just happens to sell the latest trainers or widescreen telly that you want. And certainly not the rented home of some poor family who likely can't even afford insurance for their meagre possessions.
If you think the government/police/councils are to blame then take the fight to them and leave your fellow citizens alone.
*Gets off soapbox* Before some scroat uses it as kindling
