Well...this year am cooking the full turkey dinner for mine & a few off our landing...
Last year though we had cheesy enchiladas.. which were delish!
served with garlic & herb loaf with a fresh salad..plus a few home made trimmings..

 

Christmas Day is at my parents' this year and the 5 way email between myself, 3 brothers and dad has revealed that this year we're having turkey crown, roast lamb, roast beef and goose (I got lumbered with the goose) as well as all the trimmings. So I've now made up my mind that as well as the food (and desert, that's not food) I'm taking over, I'm taking 5 sleeping bags, the travel cot and my v pillow because it's now a mega sleepover. Especially now my dad has told me how much booze he got from Costco.

The usual veg and trimmings but definitely a turkey joint or crown. Turkey is too hard to cook 

 

Sherry trifle is tradition in our family for dessert.

I've never cooked a turkey 

EC those sausages look rank!  And you need a fried egg too.

 

I like the thought of roast beef so I might do that on Boxing day and maybe stuffed pork on xmas day.  There's only 4 of us so I'm not doing a big turkey.  Maybe a chicken and a glazed ham or something.

 

What's for dessert??

I wonder if you are some kind of clairvoyant because that is exactly what I have had for my evening meal. Beans on toast with two fried eggs !  

 

 

I think we are having roast pork this year ....with honey roast parsnips, roast spuds, Brussels sprouts ( of course ) , garden peas and loads of crackling  

I don't know what we're having. I'm going to my niece's    I've been tasked to get the christmas pudding and brandy sauce/cream/whatever.

 

I might invite myself to Bazzy's tho. Roast pork *drools* 

We're dining out this year in York, taking our daughters and all of their respective men and children with us.

 

Looking forward to Boxing Day and quietness.

I like pork too Sprout ....plus it's quite a reasonable price .... 

I wanted to go out this year but my OH thought it was strange .  So now I get to cook instead.  Goody. 

I actually prefer Boxing day food.....lots of cold meat, pickles and chutneys  

Well, you'd be a fool not to add eggs to beans on toast.  In fact you'd be a fool not to add egg to most things!!

Steamed pudding and custard for dessert as only my mum likes Christmas pudding so she'll have to go without 

 I can't promise it Ells, it sounds like a lot (meat especially), but my brothers and my husband are greedy buggas. As for the drinks, well I know I'm leaving when I've drunk the place dry

That's pretty much exactly the same as I'm having Soozy, 13 of us, at my sisters, having turkey in Turkey  No roast pork, although I will be taking a big ham and several other pork products with me! 

Ells ours is a free for all at Christmas (and all the time really) our door is always open and our motto is always the more the merrier. I have twelve on my list but I know there could well be two or three more turn up (friends of my kids) they'll have had one dinner but know ours is always a good laugh. My son has dinner at 1 at his partners but saves himself for the REAL DEAL.

How lovely you'll be with your sis. I'd love to have Christmas with mine but .....she has three kids with partners and eight grand children and it all gets complicated. Going down to see her tomorrow and staying overnight though and really looking forward to it!

It'll be fine Soozy, always take stuff out, as does everyone else I know.

Roger at Christmas my house might just as well be a hotel ..............it's a week long business with people staying over (the rest of the family are only a stones throw) we're just altogether for the duration.

As I recall I chose a goat's cheese starter, a pork based main, and cheesecake.

It would only end up being a disaster knowing me 

I cook a large crown but never be afraid to cook a full Turkey Aims. Look up the Phil Vickery way ....it's quick, delicious and (virtually) foolproof.
