When I was in my early teens I wore my hair as long as I could get away with. I was mistaken for a girl on occasions!

I once had a perm...I was like a white Diana Ross  

The hair was long.

Maybes 21.

Thought a perm was the way to go.

Not daft me... she talked me into a fringe.

It was a haircut though 

Mine at the moment, it is not long and not short, and all I do is twist and stick a claspy grip (whatever they are called) in it.

All of a sudden my barber cut the hair next to my ears a 45degree angle. I looked like a Duran Duran throw back

My confirmation hair do.

I had waist length hair and my Mum told the hairdresser to cut it into a bob.  The hairdresser must have been having a mood swing coz she cut it to my ears and shaved up the back of it   I cried for days!

I had a perm disaster too.. went from waist length to nasty mullet-looking above-the-shoulders  'do  ( I got away with it though, it was the 80s! ) 

Hair's a bit dodgy now, too, it's really long, and I'm prone to chopping it myself ( I stick it in a ponytail,chuck it forward, and snip, but the ponytail must've been squinty, cause it's a good two inches shorter at the left than at the right! Doh! ) 

Mine was a curly perm too.......a tight curly perm..... dreadful.

but DAHLING..... it's an assymetrical cut!  People pay good money for them.

I wish you'd all stop going on about perms being so 80s.   Some of us can't get past that permed look, even without curlers and lotion  :bagoverheadsmiley:

Mine was a perm.

I'd had Shirley Temple curls when I was wee, which I hated. But when I was 18/19, I saw a girl on a train with beautiful big curls and decided I wanted the same style. Unfortunately for me, I ended up with something my granny would have been proud of.

Same here Yogi....... i was supposed to be what they called a *demi wave*.........

I think I got a tidal wave.

I can remember being in tears and my dad trying to console me by saying he had his wee lassie back - and that just made me cry more.

 I remember madly pulling each curl, trying  straighten it again!!

And there were no straighteners around then.

I bought this liquid hair straightener stuff for my twinky.

Comb it through and leave for given time. Great, if you like straw hair. 

Ended up with a Sinead O`Connor.
