visit moneysavingexpert.com for loads of ideas.

build up a god credit score by using your credit card every month and paying it off in full each time.

do a free credit check online to make sure you have nothing bad on your account that shouldnt be there and that everything is registered to the right address, make sure you are on the electorial roll, that way you'll get a better rate for a mortguage and you'll usualy need a smaller deposit.

another tip is wait dont buy till november as prices havent bottomed yet and in winter less people move so you'll get a better deal.

look into buying a repo they go for around 25% below market value at auction.

To be honest I would hold out a little longer as they will soon be offering 100 % mortgages again Nod

Unless you don't want 100% mortgage , then my suggestion is crap Red Face

Do you really think 100% mortgages will come back...I am not too sure

I'm sure it was in the national news not just the Scottish. Maybe you should visit the Citizens Advice or google Big Grin

TBH I think I did hear that but I thought it was a local council in Scotland offering them

sell your virginity on ebay

marry a premier league footballer

dress up in rags and get a dog and a banjo and an old hat, place the old hat on the floor and play the banjo very badly outside marks and spencers and collect coinage

shoplift and sell the goods at a reasonable price to friends and family

dig a small piece of pavement up at night so no-one sees you then hit your toe with a hammer and swiftly sue the council

become a world famous singing/acting superstar
(dont try and do both as it never works-think 'mariah carey in butterfly' Shake Head)

if i think of anymore i'll let you know
