Hi KT, I think my main reason for watching is Diana's wedding. I'd only been in the country about 14 months and I'm interested in the difference (if there is one). People on here talk about the hype, but it's nothing compared to the stuff I watched on my black and white.

Good news cologne

I think I meant ECG. Pre wedding glass of wine.

I wasn't interested till a couple of days ago. Even if the ceremonial part isn't of interest to some, or not interested because it's "the Royals" I'm wondering if they'd be interested more in the atmosphere provided by the thousands of people up there and enjoying the day. I've been to a few big occasions in London and it's the atmosphere from so many people enjoying themselves that really makes the day

No, I agree with him.  I really don't understand why people are interested in her wedding dress

A lot of women ( myself included) like pretty dresses. We are interested in fashion and a high profile figure would be expected to have a beautiful dress.

We all like different things and there is nothing wrong with a bit of healthy curiosity.

I like pretty dresses as well, and take great interest in clothing and what I wear.   But I still don't understand the interest in a wedding dress.  I agree that everyone likes different things, but my comment was made in relation to the previous remark that only a man would ask why a dress attracted so much interest, and I don't see that as being at all relevant.

That's pretty gross and crass. Despite all the hype, they are just two people who want to commit to each other. You did that and I'm certain you would have felt upset if somebody would rather eat their faeces than attend or watch your wedding.

Why on earth would anyone who didn't know me have wanted to watch my wedding?    As I've said many times, I don't have a problem with the monarchy, and hope that William and Kate have a happy life together.  I hope every other couple who decide to get married also have happy lives - they are no more or less special to me than William and Kate. My objection is to the complete overkill about this wedding, and I really, really don't understand why it has to be thrust down everyone's throats to such an extent.  I don't know William and Kate, and am never likely to meet them, and therefore have not the slightest interest in watching their wedding.

I don't usually enjoy weddings of my friends (althought that's largely because of the hypocricy involved in church weddings), so am hardly likely to want to gawp at complete strangers.  So I think, on balance, I stand by my reply to the original question which asked for FMs' official stance on the royal wedding, and my official stance remains that I would rather eat my own feaces than watch it, although I will be too busy working to watch TV during the day anyway

Maybe if you lightened up a bit you might feel some joy which ain't about you. Not enjoying your friend's weddings just because you have to go into a church is really tight arsed. Loosen up. Live goes on around somebody like you, it really does.

I shall be watching...probably all day!!! I remember watching Charlie and Di as a kid and it was an amazing day. I doubt it will seem as magical now as I am an adult!! I love all the pomp and ceremony of it all and am always fascinated by it. I realise I am probably in the minority here as I actually like the Royals, well, most of them...every family has a few members that always let the side down!!! William and Kate seem like a really strong couple and have taken their time before marrying, I guess so that Kate has had the time to adjust, which Diana never got. Kate seems to be considerably more likeable than Diana, for some reason I never really warmed to her!

So I shall be glugging tea and scoffing whatever cakes MrB grabs from the shop in the morning. I will be suitably attired in my bestest Pjs and will watch til the coverage ends.....or MrB threatens to leave me if I don't turn it off!!!!!

You're really very funny sometimes Cologne. I don't need to lighten up at all 'to feel joy' about other people.  I feel lots of joy about all sorts of people, and as I've now said many, many times, I wish William and Kate happiness for the future.  I just don't understand the frenzy among so many people about the wedding of complete strangers.  You clearly feel very differently, and you are just as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.

I try to live my life according to my values, which include trying not to be a hypocrite.   I'm an atheist and therefore do not feel comfortable in any place of worship.  I really don't see that as being tight arsed.

I hope you enjoy yourself gawping at the wedding tomorrow.  I will spend most of the day catching up with work so that I can have some free time next week when all the hysteria is over.

I don't think it will be the same as Diana's Col, but it will be a spectacle and I hope the sun shines on them.....but we are forecast showers for tomorrow
