My goodness!! you are good at this...
It's not exactly a song and it is not anything I feel guilty about posting... apart from because I post it here... I was at a concert tonight and saw this piece of the best classical piano music you could wish to hear... so it's not a song and I'm not feeling guilty, but it was a huge pleasure... does that count?

I love piano Xochi, and I play a bit..........obviously not like that though.
This is meant to be about stuff we're embarrassed about though.......and you're taking away from the fact that I've become near genius in posting music clips

One of my most favourite pieces of music ever. If I ever marry I want part of this as I walk up the aisle and played in it's entirety at my funeral. For me, this is just absolutely, mindblowingly, beautiful.
Ave Maria (Kathleen Battle - Gounod)

I had a singer at my wedding sing Ave Maria
I want this, and I want my husband to compute, he hasn't got to hurry, we have all the time in the world.

I've just been listening to the Schubert version aswell Essie, I love it too but for me nothing tops Battles' Gounod version, you know when a piece of music just 'gets' you? It was part of my studies at music school years ago, and I actually was able to hit those notes once upon a time (pre-fags - post-fags I sound like Barry White )
Oh this is another one I have absolutely loved since my childhood. Never tire of this!

Karma, I've just listened to this on Utube, it made me cry.
Just a piano and a vocal. So simple yet so effective. I think the control in their voices is breathtaking. x

I love 'miss you nights' was Cliffie's best work!
Green and Karma, I met Cliff quite a few times, really nice fella. I also like this song and it's all the better for the backing vocals which enhanced it and were arranged and sung by someone I know,Tony Rivers, who arranged many of Cliff's greatest hits that hasn't been repeated since those days, as well as his other backing singers in that era, John Perry and Stu Calver, Stu has sadly passed since that time, he was such a lovely person
Oooh YR I didn't realise you were a bit of a music head too! Yep the backing vocals are great on Miss you Nights, wouldn't have worked with female vocals.
Now tell me, do you appreciate the pure genius of Abba's arrangements? People give me the 'what are you banging on about you mad bird' look when I try to educate the masses. Meh, they know naaathing!

Another genius is Prince. Can play 27 instruments, has written songs for many (including the fantastic 'I feel for you' by Chaka Khan and 'Nothing Compares 2 U' - his version with Rosie Gaines is out of this world) Saw him at he O2 when he was over and it still blows my mind thinking about it. Was a brilliant night.

Abba were so influential on the music scene I can't imagine why some don't recognise that lol. Their music still has a huge following around the world and rightly so, I wonder how many of the modern pop culture will have a following in many years to come lol.Reference:

I agree Prince is another musical genius and I absolutely love Chaka Khan . I've been to many concerts of those I love musically but haven't seen Prince. Hubby and BIL went to the O2 a few months ago to see someone they appreciate musically and absoloutely raved about it. O2 as well as the concert lol
When we went we had one of the boxes, and for me, it tainted the experience a little, purely cos you are so far away. If I ever go back to the O2 I will definitely rough it with the rest of 'em (and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper aswell!) I dunno, it all depends on who I go to see I suppose. Prince was a lifelong dream for me so I'm glad to say that's one thing ticked off my list. I'll never forget that night, ever. Things at that time were just so perfect.
Although part of the benefit of the box ticket was entrance to the VIP bar pre-show so it did have it's benefits

Oh it's so frustrating when those who's music we love seems so far away from where we're sitting, I've also been in boxes at times and realised I wished I was nearer to the stage, it's so much more exciting when I have been. I've so far seen most of the ones I've aways admired and enjoyed, sadly some have died before I got a chance to or sometimes the ticket prices have been so high they're out of our price bracket, like Barbara Streisand lol, would have loved to have seen her when she was in the uk lol.
Oh God I would give my right arm to see Streisand. I LOVE her! Bloody love her. Also missed Stevie Wonder when he was here (another of my idols) and would love to see Aretha Frankin and Rufus Wainwright too.
I saw the Elvis comeback concert over Christmas and it showcased just how amazing his stage presence was, it was just something else wasn't it? He is one I would have loved to have seen, as I would Beatles and Hendrix also.

They knew what they were talking about.
Karma, friends of ours saw Streisand at the o2 hen she was on there...the tickets were about ÂĢ (luckily his work paid) he said she was late then did about 20 minutes took a break and then anoher 20 minutes and that was it.
You don't exactly get your money's worth
You don't exactly get your money's worth
One does feel guilty about playing, "Shut up n play yer guitar!" at full blast.
I play this song when no-ones home, I have the volume low so no-one can hear, and as soon as I have listened to it I put on some Foo Fighters to counter my pathetic ways
