I suppose it depends where they surveyed.  Like weddings, I think funerals are just an excuse to bump up prices because they know people will pay.

I've told mr C that if I go first he must get 3 prices before he decides which one to go with.  Although I'd be quite happy for him to wrap me in a hessian sack and throw me over the back fence on to the embankment.

My family can do what ever they want with me, lets face it.... it's for them more than me, they're the ones who it's gonna be a hard day for so any way they can feel better about it I'll be happy with.

Having lost both of MrB's parents in the last 6 months I can say that we didn't even pay that for the two in total....both cremations. We used a family run undertakers and they were wonderful.

My parents have planned both of theirs down to the last detail with a fund for them....I thought it was quite morbid at first but after the stress and strain of organising two, I am very thankful that they have done it. We shall be doing ours as well, don't want the boys to have to worry about it all either.

It is Jen...but not as stressful as dealing with the chuffing solicitors. At least with the funerals it was personal and we had a say in it all....the solicitors don't seem to have an ounce of human kindness grrrrrrrrrrr

I already have my plot (I'm being buried with my mammy) and we already have a headstone that can just be added to.

What I don't like about our Council is they charge you for digging the plot, then they charge you for allowing the hearse in for the burial.  Then they charge you for putting the headstone up or for additional inscription to the existing one.  Money, money, money grrrrrr.

Just stick me in a box and put me in the ground already

I really like them - very pretty   which sounds really silly but hey some people like to go in Dr Who caskets, I quite fancy a wicker one

Where we have my parents there are more and more empty headstones and plots ready for there new tenants. When mum died she was on the second row of a new graveyard, it's pretty full now. I keep asking his nibbs where we should be buried as we're from two different counties and not yet offically Mr&Mrs.

He keeps saying that there's room with his grandmother and to throw him in there. Actually, why isn't she buried with her husband?
