On Wales (again): I've got to add I really like the accent I just can never understand it (the only UK accent I struggle with). I used to be in a band with a Welsh guy, I really liked him but had to smile and nod most of the time when he was talking to me and go 'ahahaha' if I thought he was telling a joke (sometimes he wasn't)

There are as many Welsh accents as there are English Prom. Where was he from?

This was my local beach as a child...Llangennith - arse end of the Gower. Wonderful.
Burry Holms, Gower

It looks a lot like parts of North Cornwall, Cariad.

Erin:  I saw a whole load of seals along the coast around Dornoch - was well excited
It occurred to me that prior to that day I'd only ever seen them in captivity or at a rescue sanctuary...
I saw the seals too, driving out of Dornock up to Galston.

To be honest Cariad I can't remember. The Welsh accents I've heard have always been strong (colloquial I suppose). I take your point completely about the many Welsh accents. I've probably met Welsh people since and understood them perfectly without even knowing they were Welsh.

Any geologist will tell you it's all of a type Cos...west Wales, Cornwall and Brittany. Pretty pretty landscapes do nothing for me. I like karst scenery that smacks you across the face.

That's the one Cosmo thanks . I LOVE that place.

Ahh well, if you like that sort of thing then you should try travelling east and head for Toys Hill, Chartwell and surrounding area.

Just thought of somewhere else.  Those of you who like Brighton, you should stop off/do a divert over to The Griffin at Fletching.  The views across the Ouse valley are fab.  Grub and accomodation are up to scratch, so an overnight stay is do-able either en route or on your way back home.
If you're lucky, you might even see me there

Thanks Cariad, it's obviously somewhere I should go visit as I know Cornwall extremely well and have 'done' Brittany on many occasions too.

I love

Brighton: I love its anything goes attitude, funky shops and its great for a night out.

Glasgow: Brilliant all round town, stylish, cosmopolitan, arty, freindly, Historic. I think its got it all.

Loch Lomond: Just Perfect!

Islay: LIttle Scottish Island, i spend many summers there as a child. i remember walking for miles into amazing countryside along little burns barefoot and jumping into the sea off of cliffs with the kids from the farms next to us.

Lulworth cove and Durdle Door: I think the most beautiful place in the whole of the UK. Simply stunning and a view you could never get tired of.

Manchester: Brilliant for shopping, restaurants, nights out and the perfect weekend city break I think.

Cornwall: Just lovely, great beaches, laid back attitude and lovely quirky shops.
