Bath, I love that place because it somehow feels like it belongs to a bygone age without looking tacky. And I loved The Moles Club I don't know if it even exists anymore. I haven't been to Bath in a long time it might be a right dump now (bit of a disclaimer there) but I hope it isn't.

Windsor. This is a weird one, I don't know what it is about that place it just has a 'feelgood' factor for me, particularly Windsor Castle.

Manchester. This is more the people than the place. I wasn't there long (two days) but everywhere I went I found people were easygoing and easy to talk to even if the town itself is no work of art (I'm talking about the centre here).

Stamford Bridge: the best football team of all time play there, what's not to like?

I'll probably think of more...

Sincere apologies if I have profoundly offended anyone because their town/street/house isn't on my faves list.

Bath - coz it's beautiful (agrees with Prom)

Aldeburgh - because I had one of the best weekends ever in my life there a hundred or so years back

Chester - been there once with my mum, want to go back with hubby

Mudeford - because we always go there for days out in the summer, I just love, love, love the place

and Oxford - coz I live there, so it's gotta be good, huh??

I love the places. Cos I grew up in the concrete jungle I spent my time kinda blinkered to anything historic and didn't appreciate any architecture that was available to see in London. Parts of Glasgow are nice and Loch Lomond is beautiful. Edinburgh's ok but a little too plastic (too touristy).

You've just taken me back years, Rexi.  My 2 boys used to love hanging over the side and catching crabs (ooh err missus and all that).  If the sun was shining, it was the best way to while away the day.

Bath, I like but I prefer to stay out of town at somewhere like Castle Coombe - it's a really pretty village.  I like Wiltshire in general and all around that area...the Forest of Dean too, although I haven't been that way in years.

Spongey's the luckiest one though - Dorset is beautiful, as is a lot of Hampshire and the New Forest.

My favourite place in Scotland is Skibo/Dornoch.  The drive along from Inverness is exactly how I imagined the highlands of Scotland to look like.

I have no trouble disliking Wales.
The Mumbles and surrounding area are meant to be gorgeous.
Never been but think I ought to considering one of the outlaws is from that way.

Greenwich is lovely as well.
I always take it for granted, I'm a 5 minute walk from Westminster and can hear Big Ben from the back of my house. I also like the villagey bits of London. Ealing, where I grew up and where I used to live in Hampstead.

Architecturally or just aesthetically I love places like Bath and Windsor they're a joy to walk around in. Also some place in Surrey that ends in Hill it's a small place that I can never remember. I'm not really into picturesque (i.e. countryside etc). I like places of historic interest too but once is enough for me with those places.

We charge high to keep the riffraff out hon.

There are other ways to get in though - it's only South Wales that has the toll really. But goodness it's gorgeous once you get past Cardiff.
It didn't succeed keeping me out

The main bridge into Wales is a delight to drive over and once I was in it was fine, but it was just that bloody machine (and the people operating it) that I have had issues with!

I love the history of London. There was a programme on a couple of years ago about it. I didn't realise that the town we know today is actually built on top of old streets ( sorry not making sense). So London has grown upwards in every sense of the word!
The river Fleet is buried beneath the city.Apparently there are a few rivers buried beneath the city.
I love the history of the underground as well . There is a really interesting internet site which shows where all the old stations are.

This was my local beach as a child...Llangennith - arse end of the Gower. Wonderful.
Burry Holms, Gower

It looks a lot like parts of North Cornwall, Cariad.

Erin:  I saw a whole load of seals along the coast around Dornoch - was well excited
It occurred to me that prior to that day I'd only ever seen them in captivity or at a rescue sanctuary...
