Is there a fav Hymn you recall from childhood at christmas that brings back memories? Mine is Silent Night. Brings back loads of memories from school days, i was in the school choir and we sang at the town hall.

Quite like Once in Royal Davids' City.
I love Silenr Night (especially sung in harmony by 2 male voices.)
I like Adeste Fideles (Oh Come All Ye Faithful - but it has to be done rounsingly, not like a dirge.
I also remember from my childhood a carol called "Sweet Chiming Christmas Bells".
The salvation army used to give it a good old seeing-to with the band.
Also have a soft spot for Away in a Manger.

We've had a thread like this at least 3 times. I appreciate that you wouldn't go back for weeks, there it is.
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas and Silent Night.
I like all Carols .........o Little Town of Bethlehem and Ding Dong merrily on High spring to mind but ................I love them all TBH.

My daughter can fart a very good version of O Little Town of Bethlehem.
There is a rather surreal tradition in our house whereby we sing along to the Messiah. Don't know if that counts, but it has links to Christmas and the repetitive lyrics are easy to pick up and sing. Indeed one can imagine the previous poster's daughter performing, "the trumpet shall sound!"
Away In A Manger sung by little ones, as it was in church yesterday (our Joseph was so sweet 4 years old with a little beard )
I love the words we used to sing 'stay by my bedside 'til morning is nigh' rather than the slightly updated version they sing nowadays, it was more comforting somehow.

'O Come All Ye Faithful'.....I used to climb into my Grandmas bed on Boxing Day Morning and, with my sister, sing this as loudly as possible whilst Grandad made us a cuppa and a fried banana sarnie!!!! He still has a recording of us that he made back in the early 80's!!! Always makes me think of my beloved Grandma and the fab times we had.

My vote goes to this one too.
i like most - during the christingle service all lights would be switched off and candles lit and all the children would sing "away in a manger" also joy to the world, all come, hark, silent night,

I used to do Messiah as a youth. I thought I sounded great, but I don't think my parents agreed.I also would conduct it before a mirror using a ruler.
Loved it.
Oh Come All Ye Faithful
The last verse - Yea Lord We Greet Thee, sung on Christmas morning brings a tear to my eye every time
