I'm always in favour of people self-identifying rather than people outside their "group"* telling them what they are.
i agree with that. and by the same token Nadia really should have known better than to tell Josie what was what over her relationship with John James minutes after meeting her.

nadia has been through a lot in her life - you'd really have thought she could have been a little more respectful of Josies feelings wouldn't you?

she is incapable of having a reasoned argument and resorts to screeching and shouting. i dont agree with taunting her over her gender issues but at the same time this should not justify the fact she has a nasty streak.
I don't think anyone here would deny that Nadia is a difficult person to live with; as I've said before, if I had to spend 12 weeks locked in a house with her, one of us would end up face down in the soup.

In my opinion, her shrewish personality owes more to her upbringing than her gender; most of the Iberian and Latin women I know are loud, shrill, and aggressive when roused. It stands to reason that she would develop the same temperament as the women she had as role models when she was a child.

Trans people are often held to a different standard than cis people; there were at least two men in BB5 who regularly exhibited more stereotypically 'feminine' behaviour than Nadia (or any of the other women), but no-one ever suggested that any of them were 'really a woman'.
But of course, if a trans woman behaves in any way other than as a submissive doormat, it's because she's 'really a man'...

And it's a doublethink attitude as well...there are at least a couple of other trans people on these forums (who don't broadcast the fact that they're trans, so I'm not going to name them) and none of us behave the way Nadia occasionally does. So to suggest that her behaviour is because she's trans is clearly nonsense.

i hear you too sarum xxxxxx......and i hope all is well with you?........i think iks summed it up perfectly a few days ago when she said that if something really grates her cheese she'll lose her rag big time...........i'm the same........and like iks was born a woman.........that is just my temperment...........i can be calm.......i can be hot headed when pushed to my limit.........i really don't buy into the idea that just because i'm a woman i'm supposed to be meek and mild and not rant and rave................nadia would rant and rave whether she'd had the op or not........that's just how she is...............she had a sex change.......not a personality change

Sarum, unfortunately however, when it was suggested to Nadia that the BB producers would want her, Brian, Chantelle and Nikki as the final four Ultimate hms, Nadia expressed surprise that they would want: "four women"

Super, I never said that trans people were immune to the phenomenon; we can all make mistakes.
I know Sarum Just thought that given Nadia's sensitivities around the gender issues that that was an interesting 'slip of the tongue' on her part. Similarly when she decided to inform Josie that John James was gay
