Is anyone else getting this?! I tried to post in the Little leicester fox birthday thread to wish her happy birthday and also a velvet donkey thread ... and although I put a post... it said "you did not provide a comment..." and I did. I thought maybe it's coz it was too short, so I added a few extra lines... but to no avail ARGH! Is anyone else finding this.....

Yes, you're not alone
It's a bug. Close the forum down and open it again and it fixes it. Well it did for me.

Has happened a couple of time yes, but not for about 2 weeks.
Sorry about this. We'd fix it if we knew what the problem is, but we can't seem to figure it out (still working on it).
I get it sometimes, too, and I find that if I just cancel the reply and refresh the page, it works the second time.

[temps suprise techy hint] When you're in the reply box....if you see the tool bar line thingy above where you post hasn't appeared...don't bother typing a message because it won't send. Just cancel, refresh and the bar should appear when you next click on the reply thingy and then you know it's safe to post [/temps surprise techy hint]
Perhaps it would be less annoying if the message said something like......
"Call that a comment?
You can do better than that.
C'mon get your finger out and try harder.
People have to read this stuff you know.
Now try again."

That would DEFinitely be less annoying.
*goes to put in a "feature suggestion"*
And to go with Temps techy hint, if before even clicking on the Post Reply button at the bottom of the forum page, if the page doesn't show the powered by Hoop.la logo, I know that the icons tool bar isn't going to show and I won't be able to post a reply. So I refresh the page straight away.
I also think that the problem is more likely to arise if you have other web pages open at the same time as the forum page.

Not sure that's true, El Loro. Because I am the multi-tasking maniac that I am, I ALWAYS have multiples web pages open, but this error probably happens to me about once a month or something.I also think that the problem is more likely to arise if you have other web pages open at the same time as the forum page.

It has happened to me but not much. I thought it was cuz I hadn't posted a long enough comment LOL,

Maybe because Cupcake had already done it on your behalf
Just a thought.

It must be so frustrating for you Soozy, to keep ranting on and banging on about the same thing, with nobody responding or backing you up. Take the hint, and put a sock in it, because it's getting embarrassing now and you're coming across as very petty and bitter, and like you're desperate for someone to respond to you and 'agree' with what you're saying. Just let it go FFS. It's getting old now.Just a thought.
"Just a thought..." Have a nice day.
Oh dearie me! Dearie me!
Does this have to go on in EVERY thread? Can't you two learn to walk away and leave SOME threads as fun and lighthearted?
Please don't respond to my post, here: just show me that you can do it!

Hey, guess what!
Brian actually witnessed this today, and he's been researching it. He's narrowed down the cause, and now has to come up with a solution (lucky him ).
Woo-hoo!

Give Brian a hug from us. Brian actually witnessed this today, and he's been researching it. He's narrowed down the cause, and now has to come up with a solution (lucky him ).

There's a post on the Social Strata help forum to say that the fix is in the next release which should be released later this week.

Oh I see. Brian thought we were just complaining for the sake of complaining, as if we would, so now that it's happened to him he's gonna fix it. eh *folds arms* What's that all about then?
Maybe it's one of those glitches that you can only sort when you see the problem for yourself and can then examine the code to see where the page is hanging and not fully loading?
