The YMCA organisation (short for Young Men's Christian Association)
is dropping the last 3 letters from the acronym and will now be known as just "the Y".
The disco group Village People have said they will not be tweaking the letters of its hit song.

As far as I can tell, the change from YMCA to Y is taking place in the States over the next 5 years. Here in the UK, at present it's still the YMCA.

As is for the majority of mammals, but the platypus has to be different.
The platypus has ten chromosomes; males have an XYXYXYXYXY pattern while females have ten X chromosomes.
And for birds, the male has ZZ chromosomes and the female has ZW.
