I'd forgotten!

Its the Perseids Meteor night tonight  (Well... its the night when the meteor activity is at is greatest)

Am all excited now!     Hubby is off work tomorrow so we are going to go for a family walk up to the Orchards (where there is not as much light pollution) at 1am....

(tis always good to take our son...    if you want to know where the best shooting stars will be.... look and see which way the boy is looking and then look in the opposite direction! )

was just reading about them and apparently the best time for viewing will be the few hours just before dawn as they show up more when the earth is tilted a litle bit towards the sun , making them glow prettily
yeah....  2 or 3 years ago it was meant to be perfect conditions for seeing them...  so we did our family walk to the orchard at about 2am and saw some good ones...   but then daughter & I laid on sunloungers in the backgarden til dawn watching them.... and they did get better & more frequent  towards the end.

it made a whoosh noise too.
I've seen some like that...    the first time I did this Perseids thing...    they do actually woosh... and they leave a tail in the sky for ages...

I wanna see one like that tooo!

we are off out in 45 mins...    I am starting to get excited!

Hubby however...  is not looking quite as enthusiastic...  he's fallen asleep with one hand on his laptop!
