You mean a PM sent by me to another forum member could be seen by somebody else?

Yeah, I can read mine on here no problem.

I've never sent a pm so didn't know other people could read them.
Thought it was only admin who could read pm.

Fact- I just clicked on yours and It said I can't view someone elses pm list!

I thought they were private between the sender and the receiver.
Otherwise, what`s the point?

I selected not to receive PM's here as apart from this Forum I'm involved with other Forums where I have other online long term friendships or interests so wouldn't have the time for more PM's.

I'm surprised if PM's here can be read here by others as on other Forums I'm on PM's are private

The OT is wrong IMO. Yhey are read ( i presume ) by the mods but no one else gets to see them.. Scare monger if you ask me!!!!!

I'm a member on other forums and mods can't read pm, only if you contact a mod and leave a link to the pm.
If there any trouble admin can look at pm.
That's all I know.
Admin have admitted on some sites that they can read pm.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. When I was a newbie I never started a thread, I always posted in existing threads because I was nervous.

Thanks, all the Forums I'm a member of I know and trust the Admin and don't believe they can read PM's, unless like you say for whatever circumstance a member sends a copy of a contentious PM to Admin and they swiftly deal with it.

If there are Forums where Admin can read PM's I'd be wary of such sites.

The OP hasn't replied. There are loads of Multis on here--- Trolls as we like to call them -- out to make trouble not convo. Read the OP's post and ignore it if it is bad if the OP has a small post number.. No new FM to here would antagonise the FMs already here....

This is what I've been told by some members who contacted admin.

I too in around 12 years online and on Forums have never been in trouble with any Admins etc. I've also been a Mod/Admin, by request, over the years for several Forums over the years and despite what format the Forum was using if PM's were part of the setup I never had access to them and would have been wary of any Forum that had that facility if the members didn't know about it.
