Full traditional for me. Bucks Fizz while opening presents. Lunch of Roast Turkey, sausages in bacon, stuffing, sprouts, carrots, parsnips, roast and mash potatoes and gravy. Followed by family recipe Christmas pudding served with Rum sauce - and it has to be rum sauce none of that Brandy butter.
Exactly the same!!!

Apart from the sprouts *balks*

I am informed that the menu is Crayfish consommÃĐ served with fried duck and apple. Rack of lamb crusted with buckwheat flour with seasonal veg. A selction of French cheeses. Lightly frozen mint mousse with cracked caramelised chocolate and peppermint jelly.
Guess the belt will need to move up a few notches throughout the day

^ that sounds gooooood
I have never understood why people buy turkeys the size of small donkeys and then spend the whole of Xmas trying to eat it. So a small turkey crown for Xmas eve sandwiches and a 3 bird roast from Aldis for a tenner feeds 4 adults with enough left over if anyone fancies. But by Boxing day it's all gone and that's the way I like it

I'm a little worried because we're off to the OHs family this year for the first time.  I love a traditional xmas roast (with added garlic potatoes) but not sure what the sis in law is going to make   She's used to cooking for just her, her hubby and the dog and this xmas she's invited 10 for dinner......I might make my excuses and stay home (mostly because of the dog who is allowed to stay in the kitchen during cooking/eating)

I always buy a turkey that weighs around 20lb.  Mr G loves turkey, and we always manage to use it all.

It only looks loads coz I listed it rather than put it in one sentence.....I hope

I do it every year. I love it. Usually about 15-20 of us for Xmas dinner. I normally shove it all on the table and it's like feeding time at the zoo

I don't do the clearing up though. That's what the men are for

I got called a saddo by one of my kids today coz I want a Halogen Oven and cookery books for Xmas. I love cooking THAT much
