Just saw this on the news.  I am not a massive Cheryl Cole fan, but I find this riduculous and offensive.  They can't understand her ACCENT FFS?!  I think there is a lot more to it than this.  I did hear someone say on morning television that she 'clashed' with Paul Abdul: she probably didnt like the idea of someone younger and prettier than her being on the panel! 

 

America is a place that is hugely multi-cultural, and they have many people of differing cultures and races everywhere: including on the tv.  To say they can't understand someone British with really a mild regional accent, is ludicrous.  There has to be more to it than this. 

 

Wasn't Kelly Brook dropped equally fast.

I think its just a publicity stunt and she was only hired for three weeks, there was no real big fanfair that she was leaving to live in America....

They've replaced her with Nicole Shitsinger

Oh dear, publicity stunt by Simon and you can bet the UK XF team are preparing for their Cheryl returns with her tail between her legs storyline.

was an interview too with Nicole Shitsinger where she was asked how she liked working with Paula and Cheryl. She said ( gushed! ) she was a huge fan of Paula and made no mention at all of Cheryl in her reply.

I agree it could be a publicity stunt but also agree the Americans could have a problem understanding her accent and  most accents here,they had to  have to have subtitles  when Eastenders was shown in America,if it is not a stunt she has been treated very badly in my opinion ..

One is almost encouraged to make generalisations about the blatant laziness! They couldn't watch The Killing because it had subtitles. Can't handle accents. Haven't enough attention span without having breaks every five minutes. I was recently invited to a light hearted and ironic post apocalypse party on FB!! If you think my grammar is lacking, you should have seen some of the US redneck stuff on there! Sufficient to make Soops self combust. Yet at the same time the story of the Geordie miner artists has played Broadway. I suppose we have to assume that the people on the seaboards will accept anything, and that the people who sit on tractors, wear silly baseball caps, and live in the big square bits are thick as. If I may say so.

Does that mean she's coming back to X Factor UK?

I agree with you about the loss of Dannii, IMO she was the best judge on the panel.

I agree Yogi I thought Danni was the best judge too and was treated badly on the show, just hope Cheryl does not change her mind ..I doubt it though as she wont have Simon by her side feeding her ego

My local radio this morning were saying that she's off the judging panel, but not the show.   Nicole is on the panel and Cheryl's taking over the presenting role that Nicole had.    Not sure how that stacks up with the not understanding her accent thing.   I just hope they keep her in some capacity.   In prison if necessary.

I've no idea whether this is the real reason for Cheryl Cole being sacked, but I certainly wouldn't describe her accent as mild.  I would imagine that a large proportion of people in the USA have probably not come across someone with a Geordie accent before and would find her hard to understand.
