X Factor stars Union J cancelled their planned meet and greet in London today after too many fans turned up!

 

The group – JJ, Jaymi, Josh and George – were due to appear at Brent Cross shopping centre near to the show’s Wembley Studios from 6PM to meet fans and sign photos.

But when thousands of their followers turned up, the boys had to pull the plug at the last minute.

A source told us: “The boys are gutted they couldn’t meet their fans as they were overwhelmed on hearing how many people had turned up.

“But with so many fans there they were in danger of being mobbed and fans could have been crushed in the crowds.”

The boys tweeted: “We are SO sorry, just about to leave BUT the security have told us we r not allowed 2 come as its a security risk. We feel awful. So sorry.X”

They added: “To all u amazing people who turned up we are so overwhelmed for your support..it means the world. Tweet us a pic of u now and we will follow”

The group even posted a picture on twitter to say sorry to their fans, some of whom had been waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of the boys.

Josh tweeted: “If I had enough money I would take you all on a trip to somewhere exotic to apologise for this afternoon. Please still support us! Joshy x”

A spokesperson for the show commented: “Union J’s ‘meet and greet’ had to be cancelled as the huge number of people there meant it wasn’t safe for them to appear.”

The X Factor continues this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV1.

This weekend will see the remaining eleven finalists singing tracks with a Club Classics theme, while JLS and Labrinth will guest star on Sunday night’s third live results show.
