I was distraught at that!  Even just contemplating a decision like that would rip your heart out

I tried watching that film for the first time not so long ago.

Epic fail!

Tis true Supes, a woman passed out in the office once, we managed to get her to the first aide room and then I promptly keeled over, second time the manager had a seizure and I ran for a glass of water, I was shaking so much...the bloody glass was empty by the time I got back

My OH steadfastly and resolutely refuses to read/watch it/contemplate such a horrendous choice.

He did just about manage to read Bridges of Madison County 'though... a different kind of life/death decision, more 'emotional' life than 'literal.' but pretty heartbreaking all the same

I'm taking a haphazard guess that you won't ever work in medicine then!

We all have our strengths/weaknesses, 'tis what the makes the world go around

Oh god yes, me too.  If one's going, we're all going

I'd rather die than live with that on my conscience.

Anyways, ye never know, my mum may have been right and we would all be in 'heaven' together having a lovely time in a house with a white picket fence and a veranda bathed in eternal sunshine

Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

I reckon Carnelian Some of those who 'think' that they would be the weakest in extreme adversity and impossibly difficult circumstances  turn out to be the strongest and most resilient and visa versa

Totally agree, few of us can know the depths of our courage or cowardice when our backs are against the wall.
