Well, it certainly doesn't guarantee happiness. Look at Cashley and Cheryl.
You can say that now, but since Cheryl got rich, I bet there's been a lot more happiness than misery and once she's over this bad period she'll go on to have lots more happiness. More so than she would have if she hadn't found fame and fortune.

Money does bring happiness. There might be a slight fraction of misery during it at some point, but overall it makes for a happier life. If it doesn't then there's something wrong with the person.

Having enough money to live on, takes away a huge amount of worry, but it doesn't buy happiness.
In fact, it can make it harder to find.

Totally disagree, but there you go.

I know for an absolute fact that if I won a million pounds tomorrow, the rest of my life would be much much happier. I'm not unhappy as I am, but I know that a seriously big amount of money would give me the opportunities to make the rest of my life much better, much more enjoyable, meaning happier.

But you are happy already, so it wouldn't be buying you happiness, just more opportunities.

I'd say happiness comes from the relationships you make and money doesn't guarantee better relationships, just less worry about the bills.

But it would buy me happiness because it would make me more happy. Just like if Cheryl Tweedy asked me to marry her tomorrow, it'd give me more happiness than what I have now. It's the same with money.

I happen to be reasonably happy at this moment, but I'd be a thousand times more happy with a million quid. If I was miserable now, money would stop that misery and make me happy.

Really?.....You watching soaps and fantasising about a married woman is your idea of happy....I am shocked.!!!

And as much as it breaks my heart to say it...I can sort of agree with Crusty Nuts (I did say sort of).

I think it depends on what type of person you are as to how much effect money has on you or your happiness. If bills and financial restraints are your main worry in life then of course an opportunity to be debt free for ever is going to make all the difference to you. If you are sad for other reasons then it wont.

I'm quite money orientated and like the lifestyle it can bring.I've had times where I've had money and times where I've been totally skint. Have managed to get accustomed to the poor times but having money in my pocket is definitely better. Having someone in your life to share the highs and lows with is priceless though.
