Assuming you haven't already, tonight on the news they showed a site that Persimmon are going to build a load of houses on which is currently flooded.
Seems rather odd to me.

Builders are building houses not that far away from me on land which always floods when the river Severn floods or when a nearby brook overflows. The road leading into the estate is even named after the brook.
Although where I live is close to a flood risk area, I'm not in that area.
Strange they can get away with it?

The locals are fighting the decision, but these companies seem to wield a great deal of power with local authorities.

Money talks I suppose EC
I wouldn't knowingly buy one on a flood plain , but I guess it depends on how desperate for a house I was....
They've just built a lot of houses near us on a field that was under water in the last floods
I've always wanted to live on York
Now i realise most places there cannot get insurance
Any choice in York would have to be carefully considered
Not knowingly
